@OmerTheGreatOne During the day time sections of the video, I notice a large difference in the inner tail light on stock (very dim) to the car_led (very bright) tail lights. The 3rd bright light is also brighter. At night however these LEDs are 1000% brighter them stock halogen.
@devonqqq thats the thing about LEDs. they tend to have a narrow spread of light, sort of like a torch light, unless each one of them have a lens on them they tend to throw a very directional light. so if you stand directly infront of them u see too much light but when u step aside they get significantly dimmer. not the case with halogen. i think for such a price the exterior cover should have some method of dispersing the light or they can just put these leds on a curved surface.
@OmerTheGreatOne You kinda confuse me, if you're behind the car you will see the rear lights. if you're to the front or side you will see the headlights blinkers. Or the side running light if you wired it to blink when turning. So...yeah...
@nickgrand2 okay.... let me lay it in easy terms for you; if you are exactly behind it you will find them too bright almost dazzling you would tend to look away from them but when you r not exactly behind you will have a hard time telling the difference of this cars BRAKES and other cars normal rear light because these lights do not spread light and would appear dim. they work but not as good as dot approved ones. one more thing they have no side marker lights.

@OmerTheGreatOne No, they are not DOT certified. They do not have any reflective pieces on the sides of the tail lights that are required on all cars. I, nor many many other members that own these tails have never had a problem with the police or inspections due to these tail lights that I know of.
won't nothing paint, because in germany its illegal, to have painted lights. I wan't a clear, transparent 3rd brakelight for the hatch, like in your video on 23 seconds.
It's not clear, it has a film of tint over it. The way the sunlight is hitting it makes it look reflective at some angles, which you perceive as clear.

You can get it at any auto part store here in the US, such as PepBoys. I recently took the film off and painted it with a black transparent paint called NiteShades. Looks a lot cleaner, just eBay it.

Rock on. I am thinking about buying a local 05 mazda6 V6. The red rear lights are horrible looking when compared to the newer style (2006+ I am assuming). It is one of the first things that stood out at me. Hopefully the newer stock lights are compatible with the 2005.
BTW I saw your exhaust video. I am used to smallblock V8 Borla sounds, so I will probably leave the mazda6 exhaust alone if I buy the car. Seems like an aftermarket setup for the mazda6 would be more of a distraction that great sounding (not disrespecting, just comparing V8 vs V6). Unless you know of an exhaust brand/type that is not as loud, but better than stock.
Yeah, plenty of sub 05 guys either replace the tail lights with the 06+ OEM's or go aftermarket so your good there. For the pipes, check out the Racing Beat axle back exhaust.
All the LEDs are fixed on circular boards. The inner brake lights have 48 red LEDs, the blinker boards have 40 red LEDs, the reverse boards have 40 white LEDs, and the outer brake lights have 39 red LEDs in them. That's 167 LEDs in each tail light.

The lights showing the rings look cool but when you brake, the lights look unequally spaced when trying to make a solid circle but they're cool. I bet selling your stock lights got you your money back big time though. ;)
I get what he is saying. during the entire nigt shot the right side seems brighter than the left side. what he didnt understand is that this is prolly due to the way the camera is angled. its prolly pointed more to the right to the left which would unbalance the lights.
Ohh I see what your saying now. You make a good point with the camera angle. There is also a tree right above the back of the car there, casting a shadow on that side of the car possibly making the brake lights appear brighter to the camera.
too dim. compare them to regular halogen u will notice a big difference. are these dot certified??

Very easy, just spliced the power wire going to the third brake light, and ran a wire to both ends. PM me for a link to a DIY.
