you can learn it, it just takes a long time. not to mention the ear training to pick up the subtleties. I've been at it for a couple of months now, and it still sounds garbled to me when someone starts speaking too quickly.
slowly, but surely. It's just a matter of patience, practice, and ambition. Once you learn the basic grammar, work on advanced grammar and learning new words and the proper way to use them. and naturally enough, learning to read and write japanese isn't half as daunting as it looks.
With the internet, there are a lot of good sources of information, and forums with people willing to assist you, just show them you're serious and they'll take you seriously.
