This is an awesome tutorial! I was drawn to it at first because the circular structure of how you do the jawline is a lot like I've drawn my dragons before. Very nice, very helpful; I would suggest, though, slowing down the speed of the camera a little to let younger, more inexperienced artists really catch on to how the pencil strokes are laid down. Beautiful artwork!

The circles are, more often than not, kind of like a guideline to use when fleshing out the drawing. I use boxes myself instead of circles, but you'll learn to draw them without the basic shapes if you start off by drawing them with the shapes incorporated. (:

keep the eyes smal.. don't make a to rounded head, keep a rough scale feeling. don't make scales that lays perfectly after eachother.

i enjoy the dragons , drawing and reading about them, the tales and the battles, but when i get inspired to draw one, i end up drawing a dog with branches. I've tried tutorials, but is there any other form of practicing? Great dragon heads btw :D!

I asked this author, how he draws good and he said mostly trace.... then one day do it without tracing and the image is like in your hand and you know what details on the image and that.....

yeah.. you always will have crappy drawings and some that stand out :) but you can lesser that whit some good preparing, sketches and ideas..... and keep changing things dont just make 1 sketch.

that circles are just the guide lines... i only have to trace them over to get the good lines then i erase them. if i start directly on my drawing and something is wrong, then it would be hard to change it. and it is for showing the other people how they can easier draw dragons whit the guide lines then whitout.

and if you practise on the guide lines you probeply will get better dragons

This is the best demo I've seen on drawing dragons. Honeslty, I have no idea how to draw one even if it's been a dream of mine to draw for like centuries now. I really hope you could come up with a demo drawing the entire dragon, a dragon in action, different angles/perspectives. I hope this isn't much to ask for. I really just want to learn how to draw one. My attempts to draw a dragon from a different perspective just came out all out of proportion... T_T
