You start the shamrock when you start pouring the pint not just at the end, the shamrock is also suppose to be still there at the end of the pint.

I have been trying to master this for weeks and was getting super-frustrated...so I got on my phone from work and googled how to do it and this video came up. I watched it once and within 2 pours, mastered it. Thank you for posting this!

Anyone that's in the know is aware that a proper Guinness must be over the rim. I didn't see a drop over-flow.
