When i got my white macbook, I tried to play age of empires 2 and it wouldn't work on my computer. The guy at the apple store said that i lacked some chip, i don't remember what it was, do you think the same thing would happen or would it work?
From what i've seen... On PPC you can run it on 10.5.8! :) but 10.6.2 on intel. If you want to run it on PPC you need the CD because the app store is not usable on PPC powered Macs.
@ZincGamingZz - That is correct. The Mac App Store is only available on Macs running Mac OS X 10.6.6 Snow Leopard or higher (it's included in the update). PowerPC Macs only support up to Max OS X 10.5.8 Leopard. Hope this helped, everyone!
@jonandjake7 - Your hardware meets the minimum requirements, however, you're version of Mac OS X does not. "Rome: Total War™ - Gold" realistically requires Mac OS X Version 10.6.2 or higher, and so, sadly, it will not run it. Keep in mind, though, the MacBook has an Intel processor and can even be upgraded as far as Mac OS X Lion. Lion, however, requires a pre-install of Snow Leopard (10.6), which is still sold through Apple for $29.00. I hope this helped! Please subscribe, too! Thanks!
@jonandjake7 - Mac OS X Version 10.6 Snow Leopard is required for it to run. You'll also have to update it to 10.6.2 (which is free). I hope this helped! And again, please subscribe, too!
@jonandjake7 - Absolutely. The requirements aren't very high. You will, however, need to buy the CD, as you will not have the Mac App Store until you upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6.6 Snow Leopard or higher. Good luck, jonandjake7.
Mass Effect, no, Left 4 Dead, no, StarCraft, yes - StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty to be exact. It's $69.95 at the Apple Store if you're interested! Thanks for subscribing, too!
@DrNoreply - Thanks for the kind words! Yes, it is fantastic performance coming from an integrated graphics card such as the Intel HD Graphics 3000. Keep in mind though, this system also supports "Turbo Boost 2.0" - which automatically increases the speed of the active cores to improve performance when needed. And "Hyper Threading" - which allows the system to recognize four virtual cores or threads. It's also a 64-bit architecture which definitely helps. Glad you enjoyed it! Do you own one?
