You know, a lot of people don't realize this, but a frying pan actually makes a really lousy weapon. Go ahead, smack one flat against your head as hard as you can, you can't hurt yourself with it, it just carries too little momentum and spreads the impact over too much area. Now a 2 pound rubber mallet, on the other hand, tap that against your head at a speed of 2 miles per hour and you'll regret it.
