From what people keep telling me i need 3/4 packages just to get the job done. was this done entirely using c4d studio? and if not what else did you use (minus the audio)? There are so many options its all too confusing. All I need to know is what should i get to produce something exactly like this? I like the look of c4d, but the other videos of c4d on youtube don't look this good for animation, what do i get? :(

@DragonAge2k Each 3D app has its strengths and weaknesses, and the main apps are vast. We recommend trying the demos of the various 3D apps, and seeing which one you like best. CINEMA 4D is well known for being easy to use. It is used in lots of different industries, but it is especially strong in broadcast/motion graphics. It has a great connection to apps like After Effects, has unique motion graphics tools, is on Mac and Windows, and has some very cool, easy to use dynamics tools.

Gliese 581g (As far as we can tell has a revolution and rotation that are at the same rates, so it is much like our moon - only one side would have *Starlight* while the other would be in darkness. So life would have to exist on the rim between light and dark. But there is a substantial amount of evidence that the atmosphere contains the materials for life and it is in the life zone of that solar system (Although reading a planet is much more difficult than a star, so we may be wrong).

@grodkowski It's exciting to think that a potentially habitable planet is so relatively near, our own galaxy could be crammed with life never mind the billions of other galaxies.

Back to the world of CINEMA 4D, the app used to make Invasions, the Sky object from the objects menu includes star constellations if you set the time to night, and you can animate the time.

@grodkowski Question...if we supposedly know nothing of any other life form other than the ones on earth, why can we make the assumption that any other life form has to have the same surroundings and qualities as ours..? cant the possibility exist that there can be life on any part of the many planets in the Gliese 581 star system? or the universe for that matter......... just saying....

@medusasworldofstone Life possibly exists on Io and Europa, two of the moons of Jupiter. The biggest problem though is the lack of liquid water. *except on Europa, possibly* Single celled organisms are filled with fluid - which is why we look for planets in the life zone; similar to Earth. Conditions of weather like Gliese make it harder for life to thrive - not impossible - but looking at our solar system, it gives us a reference on what life can generally withstand to form. Understand?

@grodkowski any planet can be habitable, because the creatures are created specifically for that planet, if it's super hot then there are creatures that can live in those conditions, same if it's super cold!! even in the moons!! if humans still have to discover creatures here, imagine in other planets!!

the effects are great, as are the textures, lighting, modeling and the works - but ouch for the animation of the actual alien! He is always moving in what appears to be slow-mo, and though the majority of shots are of him stationary and moving his head linearly from left to right, right to left the cycles and general movements are really lacking weight among other things- when he walks up the stairs is a perfect example. But you're off to a good start! And don't forget about your arcs!

That was one of the most echanting films I've ever watched. The acutal ending is the best. I'm currently working on a short film myself, nothing close to yours, but I'm setting my sights on entering it in couple of online festivals. There's this one called BIGSTAR tv that's pretty cool.
