Haruhi Suzumiya is without a question one of the best anime I've ever seen. It's disappointing that it was so short but I can't wait till the second season. I'm going crazy here and I've seen the whole series around 4 times.

they havent announced a 2nd season, the company who makes it was trolling, there actually just reshowing the original series on tv again, perhaps sometime toward the end of the year? but even then if its 12-24 episodes you have to wait even longer :\

In truth, no. Instead, there will be a remake. The reason that there will be no sequel is because the anime creators couldn't seem to agree with the novel writer. So like I said, they are making a remake instead.

they announced a second season back in 2007 but nothing has happened since... I've read some of the Japanese novels and the first season anime only has stuff from the first 3 books in it, so they have plenty to work with for the second season but it could be that they are having issues with the writer. The writer was supposed to put out the 10th novel a year or more ago and its yet to come out so somehow everything seems to be on hiatus... very sad indeed.
