There's loads of bike parking places all over Edinburgh. Edinburgh in no way whatsoever compares to Westminster or central London in general as one comment below alludes to. The only people participating in this are either the easily lead muppets who believe that Edinburgh City Council is 'marginalising bikers', or the 2k miles per annum brigade who want to go on a wee 'jolly' to show 'solidarity' with their biking 'brothers'.

It'll happen everywhere, given how much more cooncils can gouge out of cars than bikes (unless they sardine-tin us).

Why on earth would any council want to reduce bike parkings ?
We are the solution to congestion and pollution.
Bikes must be encouraged and bike parking must remain free !
Don't let them do to you what Westminster City council is trying to do to us.
