  • nicely sung n a very good song .

  • ilike

  • Seriously if bulleh shah watch this video he will kill himself again.

  • beautiful klam

  • 2.17 and 2.56 are so funny.

  • Very good!!!!!

  • How badly the video ruined the beautiful Sufi song. Atleast have some respect for other country's culture. If Pakistan start doing dumb things with your Indian Bollywood culture how will you guys feel.

  • @ourpak1

U pakistani already doing by dancing vulger Mujra with Indian Bolywood song .So dont complain.

  • tum benchod singing me hindustan aur pakistan la rahe ho...

  • Beautiful song and lyrics

  • better than english music :) although i dont understand much of it :)

  • I like this song very much. Its so soothing! The lyrics are ausumn but cant download it or share it with my friends coz in this thers a line which compares the person to whom the song is addressed with qaba and qiblah n itz a shirk so though i like it.I cant rate this even 1 out of 10.

  • @nupur452004 This is not shirk. This is poetry written by Sufi poet Baba Bulleh Shah. Don't look just at surface level. Please try to understand the deeper meanings. Here the person to whom he is addressing is God Himself.

  • PAKISTAN ZINDABAD

  • A peacock calls in the grove of passion

It’s Qibla, It’s Kaaba where lives my love

You asked not once after you stabbed

Your love has made me dance like mad

  • Bulleh Shah chal chaliye Inayat de buhe jis ne pehnai menu saway te suhay (Bulleh Shah let's go to Inayat's door(his teacher's door) who gave me red and green robes to wear.

Here red and green robes mean the spiritual enlightenement. The 'robe' is a metaphor for the mystical knowledge of the sufi path, bestowed on Bulleh Shah by his spiritual mentor Inayat Shah.

  • "Terey ishq nachaya kar ke thaiya ve thaiya, jaldi aa ja ve tabiba nai te mein mar gaeen aan"(Your love makes me dance like crazy, please come soon my healer(physician) or i am going to die soon).

  • awsum sng............................^_^

  • The camera work is actually amazing. The shakiness of the shots is all intentional. It brings out a raw vibe of the visuals as if we're walking in India ourselves. Steady shots are also used when necessary. And the dancing is amazing. This video actually blew me away. Great green screen work too. Hope you all can see the beauty in this.

  • i love dis song ....

  • goood song

  • good song...bad video...this kalaam is not just about dancing...its more about how we (human beings) jump from one foot to another in a real world...something god (supreme being) looks at with great amusement...namsayin? kindly, dont screw sufi music...its more about message than words or dancing for that matter

  • @IIXLNCII Really agree with u !+

  • @IIXLNCII if you have the brains to deliver such a deep discourse, then have the humility to understand that the art of dance itself is very deep and there is no offence in representing sufi qalams by dance.

  • @suryayt01 u cant eat pickles with everything now can you? i dont think any guy with a slightest knowledge of the language would like to see girls shaking their behind over this.i donno about u but i m offended..sufi qalam's are on a whole different level..

I have got nothing against dancing or art though...ever heard of whirling dervish? its more like a yoga...now thats what i call sufi dancing. cheers!

  • @IIXLNCII calling our seven classical dances as 'Pickles' is the worst metaphor. These classical dances are ages old, centuries older than Bulleh sha's kalam. these are not girls shaking their booties, these were human beings expressing the emotions and thoughts through intricate hand movements and facial expressions called mudras. Mudras are based on 9 rasas of human emotions.

  • @suryayt01 i didn't say that there's anything wrong with classical dancing. all am saying is that the two doesn't really compliment each other. however, if i mute the song...it is without a doubt...one of the finest piece of art i have seen in a long time. thats just the way i look at it; with all due respect to mudras ofcourse..maybe we can teach each other a thing or two about our subjects. pakistanis cant dance..dont u think india needs to work on creativity? just a thought!!

  • @IIXLNCII Dear friend, my statement that Pakistan doesn't have a tradition in dance is not a simplistic Pak-basing from an Indian. The black cloud of religious extremism that shadows Pakistan is always a restricting factor towards dance. Somewhere I read that Pakistan's national dance is Kathak but people even have problem in accepting it because its kind of not-fit-for-islam thing. How many established dancer does Pakistan have. contd.....

  • @suryayt01 lol...its gonna take me days to read sucha long response from u although am gonna have to admit that ur impression about commericalization was spot on but its just one side of the coin. i agree that pakistanis didn't really promote the art of dancing the way it should have been done..but same is the case with music as well...fact is that there is hardly a platform where we can promote art in our society and believe it or not...islamization is least of the factor in this case...

  • @IIXLNCII Fortunately music has somewhat been spared by islamists and hence it has flourished in Pak. And it goes without saying that Paki music is one of the finest. At least when it comes to popular music, Pakistan has much to boast than India. In India bollywood(cheap. crap nonsense) and commercialization has eaten up the space for creativity and emtions. contd.........

  • @suryayt01 with all the problems we're facing today from foriegn interventions to political instability to economy to islamization as some puts it...music and dancing is the last thing we need to worry about...its all about setting your priorities. when public expenditute on education is less that 2% of the total GDP of pakistan..forget dancing. only time we dance is when pakistan wins a cricket match and that my friend is the worst dance u can possibly think of..sort of a free style. :)

  • @IIXLNCII Indians have become highly pretentious in everything they do, a cyst has engulfed our creative thingking and the real creative people are finding it tough to fight this mental disease which has taken the shape of an endemic. You are right, indians have become less creative on whole. contd....

  • @suryayt01 biggest challenge we face today as a nation is that we are in a state of denial. there's a lack of investment in our youth, jobs are scarce, brain drain, mismanagement and to top of all of..lack of political will...all of which is creating a huge vaccum filled with religious rhetoric.. they say deperate times require desperate measures.. music flourishes here because music knows no boundries while artists exploit that frustration making something good out of it..pure talent.

  • @IIXLNCII But this song of Sona doesn't exemplify that. Instead, i'd count this is an execption. The juxtaposition of physical dance on this song works at various levels. At one level it "LITERALLY" complements the song, and on the other, the mudras in the dances "RE-COMPLEMNT" the lyrics. This is my person opinion. To each his own. No offence

  • @suryayt01 U r right. The dances compliment the lyrics of the song.Tere ishq nachayaa kar thaiya thaiyaa means "your love has made me dance like mad". The central point in these lyrics is "Love". Here "Love" is symbolic. It's love which leads a person to the perfection whether it's love for dancing, singing or any form of art. I can see some beautiful dances in this song. Dance in any form is an expression of innerslf and Indian classical dance is the most difficult dance and best in the world.

  • @Mo00nlight thanks buddy

  • @suryayt01 Although i am from Pakistan but i consider Indian classical dances best in the world. No other dance in the world can compete Indian classical dance which is an art form in itself. India has given the world incredible treasure of art, poetry, dances, science, mathematics, numerology and philosophy. Also Sansikrit being the mother of all languages.

The Arabs took the knowledge of Mathematics from India and spread it around the world.

  • @Mo00nlight whatevr art & culture that belongs to India, is yours as well. And whatevr yours is there, is ours in the same spirit. It's just the passion of islamic supremacy that drives u ppl to separate yourselves from us. U say sanskrit is India's, but fact is the ashtadhyayi sutras were written on the soil of Pakistan. But unfortunately thre's no institute in Pk that study Sanskrit. Very Sad. I thnk Pakistanis mst learn to respect their history and culture, which predates the arrival of islam.

  • @Mo00nlight Feel really dissapointed in reading this comment from you. The Sanskrit literature which was written/born/developed in Pakistan, and here u say "india" has given the world Sanskrit?

What next? Indus valley civlization belongs to modern day india? King porus was an indian? what else? Brahmagupta was an indian also?

  • @Truth987Seeker That's true that Sanskrit literature was written/born and developed in Pakistan but in ancient times there was no Pakistan and all the land was called India or Hind which included the present day Pakistan upto the border of Afghanistan.

  • @Mo00nlight

I LOve You and all Pakistanis around the world

  • @Truth987Seeker Thanks for your love.

  • @Truth987Seeker

get a life man.. sanskrit was born in india with the aryas.

  • Comment removed

  • @suryayt01 almost forgot...the whole concept ofsufism is to deny "self". that makes physical dance of that sort negligibly small or irrelevant...to understand the song or sufis better...u gonna have to read between the lines. my opinion...

  • @IIXLNCII : insane .. how can u criticze indian culuture which has shown nd taught world how to get civilized ..

  • @MrJai13 i dont mean no disrespect brother. sometimes, things look different from outside the box and being different sure is an asset. one love!!!

  • But I can understand that Pakistan doesn't have a rich tradition in dance and hence you are offended by this rendition. Yeh sab Pakistan mein hota kaha hai. Pakistan me ek bhi classical dance nahi hai. All dance is like shake ur booty. Disappointing

  • @IIXLNCII I agree with u. Dance is an expression of human emotions. When Baba Bulleh Shah says tere ishq nachaya kar ke thaiyaa thaiyaa which means "Your love makes me dance like mad". The word "Thaiyaa, Thaiyaa" is itself an expression of dance.

  • kitni bar bhi suno dil nahin bharta hain . kya gana hain . i luv it

  • em pakistani...but relli a great work done...beautifull remix...awesome

  • Bad work by camera man, ruined the mood of song.he is trying to be more expressive than words and vocals of the singer. He spoiled such an oppertunity to capture these beautiful places, faces and costumes.

    سو سو سول اندر دے

  • I love the way this song was done. I m a huge Baba Bulleh Shah ji fan. However I do wish she kept the words in punjabi instead of making them hindi and worked on the pronunciation of some words like Chal (pronounced weird), jisne- should b jine, ati-should be adi, bhar should pronounced par buut otherwise excellent song

  • @nworb lovely comment

  • Tashu danced to this on DID

  • The following classical dance styles were performed in this video:

Bharata Natyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Kathakali, Mohini Attam, Yakshaganam, Manipuri, Odissi (which is what the final dancer was doing and happens to be from Ms. Mahopatra's home state of Orissa). If anyone noted any others that I missed please feel free to add:)

  • can any1 get me the lyrics n notation please? thank you in advance

  • excellent use of many classical dance styles to interpret a universal song by the great sufi poet-saint, Baba Bulle Shah. i dont know punjabi (so looked up a translation of the song), but the dancers showed the meaning well. And Ms. Mahapatra sings wonderfully. this creative effort of classical and spiritual arts flowing so well together is a beautiful piece of art in praise of an eternal truth:)

  • this is basically pakistani sufi song...

    that...is...what....it basically is....but

    its really good!

  • it is a an old punjabi song. get ur facts right. There was no pakistan 60 years back. Get a life and stop ruining our videos go to ur pakistani videos

  • 1947-2007 is 60 years u jackass

  • @wooziak ok 63 years :| big deal. As if 3 years would change history :P

Calling someone names doesnt make u look better. Truth is truth and u swearing is not going to help you.

  • its very old kalam my dear, not song, n u r right ur videos are going up n uppps, n running to the top of top, .....

  • @AksheeShadow AksheeShadow ....It is amazing the racism that goes on amoung a single race... While u view someone is less than yourself... you forget that there is another that views himself superior to YOU and views you as a mongrel mutt !!!!!! you are fueled by ignorance... and so long as there are people like you, including these 12 that liked your post... ignorance will run rampant on Earth!!!!!! Take my insult with a grain of salt, let it let u think.

  • @sallamatt Honestly !! will you please read my comments before even saying nething blindly ?? Where on earth was I racist in stating a fact that this is an old punjabi folk song and has no specific original artist to claim ? This is also fact that there was no pakistan 63 yrs back.due you realize the fact that you try and be philosophical whenever there is a fact for which you guys have no counter argument available? U start playing racism cards and blah blah.... think and speak.... or write

  • @AksheeShadow lol take it easy :D ... its n awsome song... lets enjoy it :D ..so what do u think of the video? :)

  • @AksheeShadow lisn u indian pakistan bin ther since 63 yeaz an wn u said dis it wr 62 so u gt ur facts right dnt tl others about sumert u dnt no bou ur slf u low life we pakistaniz r da best

  • @AksheeShadow There was Pakistan 60 years back my dear..the fact that Baba Bulleh Shah belonged to Pakistan is hard to extract because you are right to an extent that Pakistan didnt exist when Baba Bulleh Shah lived. However, Bulleh Shah is believed to have been born in the small village of Uch, Bahawalpur, Punjab, in present day Pakistan. Whatever the case, he was a gem that belonged to the sub-continent and I sure am enjoying this bit of his!

  • @SadafGD Yes i agree with u that Baba Bulleh Shah belonged to Indian Sub-Continent when there was no Pakistan at that time. Baba Bulleh Shah was a diamond among all the gems. His poetry was for everyone whether Hindu, Sikh, Muslims or whoever it was.

  • @AksheeShadow You should get YOUR facts straight cuz there was very much a Pakistan 60 years ago. Partition in 1947, do the maths genius :P

  • @darkangel5968 read my comment above to some other genuis who thought 4 years would make a huge diff

  • @AksheeShadow Facts are facts. You can't change them. you can't just say Pakistan gained independence in 1943 can you? Or say that the 9/11 attacks happened in 2011. Hahahaha

  • nice song............

  • shes orriya...not south indian!

  • it is by our sufi poets.. but its not in urdu.. its basically Punjabi but it touches Siraeki aswell. cuz when sufi's used to write they were always students of another sufi and everybody treated them wih their own touch!

it is nice though! alot of tuner has been used cuz i donnu maybe its because of the dialect and syllables!

  • ok it is pakistani song

  • awtesom song this is bacically an urdu song .

  • its punjabi my dear and not pakistani song. Baba Bulle Shah lived when pakistan was part of India. Anyway lovely song.

  • @rumayadav so then its also not Indian. if its not Pakistani...then from whom it dose belongs to..?

  • awesssssssssssommeeeeeeeee....b'ful song

  • she is from orissa

  • The orignal version is by the great Abida Parveen !! though this one feels good to my ears too! good work Sona

  • abida sang a version of it. it has a lot of versions and majority singers write the lyrics acc to the era they r in. The same goes for jugni.

  • this song is one of the great songs i have ever heart!!!music and sound is perfect. it takes us to world beyond our imigination. just sooooo great and perfect:!

  • just great sound

  • ZeppelinM sounds like a first rate jackass!! Holy ?! Poem ?! What has she added ?! Read up a bit before u start dissing other people 'cos anyone can call your bluff u ignoramus! Atleast understand what circumstances the song was written in the first place! It's narrowminded fools like u who keep barking the conservative talk like u own The Great Sufi Baba Bulleh Shah! Get a life! She's done her 'version' of the song. U don't like it, that's ok, but pls dont act like U KNOW ANYTHING !!

  • I agree. Well put.The sheer quality of singing renders this song very close to heart. TO listen to the sufi version, please refer to one sung by Abeeda Parween ( available on Youtube) and then compare with this one.

Sona is good and so is her team of musicians, because this is a masterpiece.

  • ZeppelinM sounds like a first rate jackass!! Holy ?! Poem ?! What has she added ?! Read up a bit before u start dissing other people 'cos anyone can call your bluff u ignoramus! • The multiculturism of Subcontinental India at its best! Though I agree with zeppelin, it's "cheti aaja" not "jaldi aaja"... cheti is a powerful word, like thayya... its punjabi. I don't like when they convert punjabi kafis into urdu/hindi.

Though the song itself is very soothing and the videography is simply amazing. bravo!

  • hindi/urdu has larger reach. not every one understands punjabi. We should appriciate that this way baba's message reaches a larger audience.

  • No dude. It is a Sufiana Kalam (Sufi poetry) written centuries ago. It desrved to be original.

  • This is a divine Punjabi sufi song written by Baba bulleh shah. She has no right to copy the ANTARA and then add stupid stanzas. This wanna be sufi singer completely bollywoodised and hence ruined the Holy Poem.

    My 50 cents.

  • this song is so differnt... i love listening to this song when i'm alone
