  • Sometimes Grace's voice almost sounds like an instrument. Cannot begin to say how much I love hearing Balin-Slick-Kantner's voices soar together.

  • A brilliant song, probably the zenith of the Airplane/Starship project. 5.51 "But in a day and a night I could write you a symphony"............................

  • Nothing is real but my feelings and desires for you

Everything looks like some sort of scenery stored in an empty theater

    With stars on the ground

    Fences in the sky

Tears in the curtain of time

Oh what can I tell you now my Caroline

  • This band missed Balin. His returned presence reunited the those really cool three part harmonies. Listen to Kantner and Slick step in at the 2:11 mark. Close as this band was gonna get to the Airplane's power...

  • marty balin so dreamy......

  • Marty!

  • and the music of my song is just right for lovers.....

  • I dated a girl named Caroline right after this came out. She was my love then and these many years later she still is.

  • Memories, Memories!! A 17 year old just coming of age in 1976. They just don't make music like this today!!!!

  • @UmmAzizaJamila-Yes,many fine memories. You have made another. I return your wish for me with what love I can send through this strange ether we communicate through. My only hope is that there is room in a heart that must be already overflowing with the same.

  • I forgot how much I love Jefferson Airplane, Starship and anything they did.

    It was a wonderful time.

thank you for helping me, remember some great moments in life.

  • always reminds me of ya RIP Kaz

  • This was a song that was well played on the Vineyard in 1976.

    A real comeback .

    Oak Bluffs and all that.

    Great!!!!

    rolling all the time,

    indeed!

  • I had a dark eyed girl who once loved me back when this song first came out.The poet in my soul longed for her.Years later a friend bought a small fishing boat and began chartering it on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. Her name:CAROLINE. Ifished her many times.with good luck.Always catch and release, as she did with me.

  • @skippertee1 Sounds like some great memories were made in your life.

    Be blessed.

  • A beautifully creative melody set to a poem.

  • @Jelly50cent finally...i am running into people who can realize the timeless beauty of this song!! i have loved this song for nearly 30 years and will until the day i die...

  • @bunkieb00 You just ran into another one ! I was there back then and also have loved this song from the beginning.. I was at their concerts front row center.Today has nothing to compare. sad but true !

  • @dbrinkm1 Ya sure got that right!! this is real music played on instruments and sung by a true singer..none of this computer-enhanced crap like today!!

  • the chorus is fine, but the song could be ( sans chorus) could be the best ballad ever

  • @airsoftguy20 You hit the nail right on the head, this is one of those songs that wants it both ways, must be the Stairway to Heaven syndrome ; )

  • That 12 string puts me on the on the marin headlands catchin that bay breeze

  • My gawd is this tune beautiful, loves it, loves it big time, muah! *goosebumps*
