@FitnessExpert This was recorded before the Tornados Version. But I would not call it the "original" Mr. Doug Sahm wrote the song, and this is just a version of it. It was first released on a Sir Douglas Quintet album, and then it became a big hit in the Tornados version.Doug Sahm was involved in both projects, so, I would not see any "original" or "cover", just a great tex mex song, no matter which version it is

Man I was just listening to this and it came to me. I think it was the Sir Douglas Quintet that started Tex-Mex music. They had that Tex-mex style way before it became mainstream.

Totally was a poor choice of words, but really it wouldn't hurt you to show some class and some character as well and just take the high road by letting people be...he was complimenting the music and the people that made it..did he use a word you didn't like?
