Although I prefer Rosenthal's slower tempo for the Nouvelle Etude, Levkovich plays it very nicely and his Tarentella is fabulous. Well done !

for me gives the image of a lighthearted horseman riding over the afternoon fields back to where he belongs, lost in thoughts with occasional wistfulness..

He looks as though is enjoying playing the tarantella very much. I don't blame him its one of Chopins jollier pieces with much humour contained inside. Just goes to show that Chopin didn't just write dark music in dark minor keys.

Whatever. The 2nd nouvelle etude is actually a lot of fun to play, and this performance brings that out nicely. You can't blame the guy for enjoying his work, and for his eyebrows, etc., to reflect this.

youve got to be kidding me!you cannot compar lang lang to him. Lang lang has good technique, but no spiritual connection whatsoever! Dimitry has very very good connection with his audience.

really?Facial expressions??who cares!!! i think it comforting, better then those who try to show how hard it is, it makes the piece even better! it adds his own touch that connects to the audience! just try to imagine the piece without those expressions!
