is having the rackmount almost the same as having the keyboard also? just without the crappy keyboard part they put with it? you just hook it up via midi?
@Synthesized13 No difference between the rackmount and the keyboard option for M3, as long as you have a good MIDI keyboard rackmount is fine. That said, the keyed versions of M3 come with really good high quality keybeds, better than most MIDI controllers.
Great keyboard, real nice playing, and patch/sound effects. How should I decide between the Korg M3, Pa2x Pro, or the Tyros 3? They all seem very powerful. I'm particularly interested in the accompaniment features and less so the workstation aspect of it. Interested in contemporary and spacey sounds. Thx for any opinions.
@Halunlimited My understanding is that the Tyros (and Pa2x Pro) are geared towards auto-arrangement and live one-man-band type performances. If you want to be able to sit down and play something nice in one take, go with one of those. If you want finer control over every part of your track, would like to create custom sounds, etc. you are better off with a workstation like the M3 (or Yamaha Motif or Roland Fantom).

@Synthesized13 Thanks. Now the TY4 is out, even more bells and whistles.
