Did anybody notice what the speaker says at the beginning ?? He said that after the previous show, when Jimi Hendrix played Hey Joe and Wild Thing, they received a huge amount of mail, some saying it was an incredible performance, some others comparing Jimi with a CHIMPANZEE !!!!! That leaves me speechless...... :-(
Very interesting: the organ and the vocals are extremely close to the single (and, also, Brooker seems almost play-backing, as in the promo video), but this version is definitely not that one. Excellent as always, anyway;)
WOW. This is very original Procol Harum. The band that actually recorded the single -- Bobby Harrison, drums and Roy Royer on guitar. Gary of course on piano and David Knights on bass. I don't I have ever seen a vid with the original members.
And of course that's the incomparable Matthew Fisher on the Hammond Organ. This isn't the band that recorded the single though. The late great jazz drummer Bill Eyden played drums on that.
That isn't Trower on guitar nor - can't remember his name - on drums. Check out a Top of the Pops clip from the same time with Trower riffing uselessly and dancers not having a clue what to do. Hilarious.
It's Bobby Harrison on drums and Ray Royer on Guitar. This was the very first Lineup. Soon Trower "returned" (old Buddy from Brooker) and Wilson took place on drums
une des plus belle chanson de l histoire...

@Pheelhype I noticed it too. That's very disappointing... even the speaker laughs at that. Very sad indeed.
