Funny, when I was there in 1991 I had a chance to speak with several Mid-Level Iraqi Officers, having taken their surrender.
They were clear as to what their war aims were:
1. Cancel their war debt to Kuwait by invading.
2. Use Kuwait's wealth to rebuild Iraq.
3. Put political/military pressure on Saudi Arabia
4. Put economic pressure on the West by controlling the Gulf.
But, what do they know. I'm sure a Youtube General has the fuller strategic picture.

I don't see why people think this is automatically a bad thing. Saddam had illegally invaded Kuwait and was committing war crimes on their people, not to mention holding the entire world hostage with it's oil reserves. Sometimes using measures like B52s are necessary. Albeit difficult for some people to accept.

We waited for Iraq to be a provocateur by limiting oil supplies, then we capitalized on their diplomacy errors. It's all part of the military industrial complex. Thats ridiculous. Establish a command center in the middle east? With half a million ground troops? Against weapons we originally gave to Saddam to fight the Iranians? The international implications of the invasion of Kuwait were far more complicated than a "command center". Even the United Nations got involved, and were squarely against Iraq's actions. You are needlessly demonizing the US. The only thing putting troops in SA did was anger Al Quaeda, which led to 9/11

It was an illegal act of aggression butchery no different than Hitler or Stalin. The B-52s in the 1960s and 1970s used the old-style carpet bombing from WW2. That's why a lot of people in Vietnam war were killed than in modern war.
In this Gulf war, there is a major computer technology and surgical strikes was invented. Modern warfare also helped prevented thousands of civilian casualties.

He also that the Super Hornets are retired, He thinks that F-14s are still in service, he says that there is a squadron in the Army that operates F/A-18s, F-16s, and F-15s. He said that the USAF and the USN uses the same aircraft. And he also said that F-22s are carrier qualified and claims that he watched an F-22 takeoff and land on a carrier in person.
