i love doing long jump but for olympics they should seriously just subtract the difference if athletes cross the line. since they can measure it instantly anways with the cameras and stuf
2:15 NCAA ....wow weird, they say it like it's a word in french "en-si-eh". Never knew that and I speak French. Cool! Well,....that guy does, anyway. Haha.
Ngonidzashe could be so much better if he had some lift. he jumps sooooo flat. Watt gets up there ! just has no runway speed. put them together and you got new world record
@alecb415 I was thinking the exact same thing. Ngonidzashe is already amazing - however, with even a smidgen of lift with his 9.8 100m speed - he is a pretty good candidate for the world record holder.
Ngoni is 25 years old, he won NCAA in 9.89 for the 100m and also gold in long jump with 8.40 and to me he's fucking so fast on the runway. He's in the same pool of athletes as Carl lewis
I'm a 10 year old long jumper with a big dream. I've been jumping 4:15 or higher an I would love to go to the Olympics one day to represent Australia. If I couldn't get in for the long jump, I reckon I could be successful in the 100m sprint. Please help me achieve my dream in someway
@TheNinjanut3 train hard (get a level 5 jumping and running coach, never give up on your goal), if you really want to make it big give up school... simple mate
@yl86b4 Are they only measured by where their feet land? So, if they fall back and their butt ends up in the dirt behind them, does that hurt their score as opposed if they landed clean? Where do they take the measurement upon landing? Thank you for all the info. I'm not sure how I stumbled upon this last night, but it's a pretty cool event. I watched some triple jump too... very weird. I also watched pole vault and javelin. Tough sports!
@Dreadblow143 9.89 in the 100 usually helps ;) he lacks the acceleration into takeoff (which phillips and watt does beautifully) though, and probably loses some height cause of it
good

5.01 - Never mind the long jump, check out - Watt jumped the height of his own body! He could dunk a 12ft ring on his way to his 8.3 meter jump!

What language are they speaking? I don't understand how this sport is judged... they all land in roughly the same spot. Amazing distance though.
