@TithonusSyndrome Not really. The problem of being a centrist is that liberals point them as conservatives, and conservatives consider them liberals. It's the old ides of: If you're not in my side, then you're in their side. People can't see or don't want to see a third position because most can't think further or are too lazy to do it. A centrist takes more time on choosing their ideas, and even contradict themselves. For instance, maybe one centrist believe in legalize gun, while another no.
It's okay for a non-signatory to the NPT to have close to 300 nuclear weapons, but its not okay for a signatory to pursue nuclear energy, (with the potential to make 1 weapon).
It doesn't make much sense unless you insert the names Israel and Iran. In which case you can receive a Nobel Peace Prize for promoting non-proliferation by aiding the former and criminally threatening the latter.
What was the point of this interview? If you noticed we are living 1984. Every single mainstream media network is reporting lies, propaganda, brainwashing, confusion, instilling fear, distraction, no truth whatsoever. The US is officially a totalitarian police state and most Americans don't even know it. How would they when they already believe 2+2=5? Maybe you guys can focus on the hypocrisy of everything from now on because honestly, this kind of stuff is a total waste in every sense.
Centrism always has been an admission of weakness and this guy who thinks that by "reforming" capitalism, a system that runs on inequality, he will somehow build a society where everyone wins is going to end up very disappointed.
I remember when India wanted a nuclear program and US hated it..now India has it....and India called US bluff that they would bomb India....ditto for this situation.
Personally I don't care about Iran's nuclear ambitions...
Israel started it so if they are indeed persuing nukes, it's obvious that they are just responding in kind.
However, I'm curious to the responses from the Real News analysts that claimed that it was against Islamic law and that the Supreme Leader woudn't allow it even if Ahmedinijad wanted it.
So I'm curious to know what they say now...
Were they just wrong? or Is the CIA intelligence wrong?
@MajNorberg India wasn't full of religious extremists. It's never whether or not someone has nukes, it's WHO has them. And Iran is religiously about 700 years behind the rest of the world in civility.
"Fight toward the center" - hmm, it seems the center has been pulled to the hard right in the past 30 years. "Silent majority" politics is kowtowing to the PTB.
to tell you the truth..i rather have the congress pass some laws prohibiting insurance and pharmaceutical companies from charging so much, rather than the government running anything really.. but if the government is going to throw our money away as they did in the bailouts, we might as well get a chunk of that money to help actual people not elites
Getting to 51% as some sort of mandate for change is absolutely wrong. It's not about right, left, center, it's about the Constitution and a gov that stays within it's limits. Getting gov out of our lives will get blacks out of jail. Getting gov out of education will get blacks to seek to be educated. This whole notion that gov is the solution is retarded.
What Mr. Benjamin Jealous fails to recognize is that his socialist ambitions for his people have no hope of succeeding now that the country is financially insolvent.
Trouble with the NAACP is that its worried too much about what White people are thinking and doing and not worried about what Black people are thinking and doing. I'm glad to hear you at least address some of your peoples real problem.
Problems you missed Single-mother Families, Criminal characteristics, School underachievement and drop-out rates and a culture of entitlement. There is no Legislation nor Act nor Agenda nor Policy going to fix these problems.
I agree with him; governing from the center is easiest. then over time, change things. Obama seems to be trying very hard to govern from the center; however the fringe right doesn't seem to care. he's still a socialist from kenya to them. :(
Ah, centrism; the gutless doctrine of heroes like Chamberlain.
