  • You can't put Panavision optics on a Red, nor on the F23. On the Genesis, there is a PL mount and the sensor size is very comparable to an actual film camera gate. The F23 is 2/3, so say good-bye to your favorite optics. And please stop comparing film to video, a factor that film students(and other similar anti-blockbusters) often fail to see as important is production cost, hence video. Most people can't even see the difference between film and video. And more importantly, they don't even care.

  • The Genesis is actually a re-branded Sony product - the forerunner to the F35. It is still only an HD camera capable of 1080 lines of resolution. The difference is that you can buy a RED ONE, while you can only rent a Panavision to the tune of 5 grand a day, or a Dalsa Origin at a comparative price. Panavision has also purchased a number of RED ONES for rental.

  • only a million dollars, maybe mommy will get me one for christmas

  • 1 million dollars

  • that camera must of cost like $100,000

  • You cannot buy cameras from panavision. Even a video camera like this. They still have the panavision cameras that they shot jaws on in their inventory as old as they are. This Genesis camera though is not film it is video and is no where close to film for now.
