What do you get for collecting all of them?

has anyone actually asked the question: why did a robot eat a lum? or HOW did a robot eat a lum? of course, maybe through an... unpleasant process of metal mashing... but to what extent? are lums 90% motor oil? is the second rayman some sick concoction created by oil companies to brain wash you into eating mcdonalds?

Of course, I'm going over board for the sake of lolz, but seriously, when razorbeard ate that lum, I had to stop playging for like a week, stressing my 10-12 year old brain on why.

It's weird because the PS1 version of this game only had 800 lums total in it.

I did this lum on the 3DS but I think nobody shouldn't attempt to get it. Because the spider web that is supposed to bounce you up doesn't bounce at all, and if you use the spiders to get a little bit upward mumentum you will make it still, BUT once you get the lum Rayman stops moving and can't be controlled anymore, so you have no choice but to redo the entire level again. But if you really want that lum you need to redo the level as the price for it

The Versions with the 1000th lum are:

N64, DC, DS, iOS, 3DS (albeit broken, and requires the use of a usually unnecessary method to obtain it) and PS2 (Revolution)

The passage is open even when you have like 400 lums for example so you don't need 1000 lums to unlock it.It's just a secret passage

Note: there Are several versions of this game. Only some (2/7 versions) let you get the 1000th others only have 500 lums or 999

The N64 and DS version have 999

@Mlvmax62260 Pour celui-là, je m'y suis pris assez mal : j'ai filmé l'écran ^^ (d'ailleurs on entend le bruit du PC, et du lecteur CD vers la fin).

Sinon, Fraps est le meilleur, mais la version gratuite est limitée à 30 secondes de capture, je crois, et avec watermark sur la vidéo...

Après, il y en a d'autres comme CamStudio, mais qui descendent à 12 images par seconde en 640x480 :/

My Rayman 2 disc met a terrible fate. I was cleaning up my shelves, and suddenly it rolled out from it's CD case (because the case was broken) and it fell to the floor and shattered into pieces.

Pay attention to key details in the video:

•at 0:29-0:30 do not look for a hole in the wall, look at the wall itself, notice how the right wall protrudes farther toward you than the left, leaving a gap between the two walls:

wow, when I played that game on N64 years ago, I always hoped that finding all yellow lums will enhance a secret ending level, where I could fight razorbeard again and get the 1000th lum out of him.

But as I finally had "all" 999 lums nothing happend.

That was the only time ever the game dissappointed me!

Im in the UK and i have rayman 2 for the ps1. In my version there are 800 lums and razorbeard eats a red lum and nothing is reduced. In Rayman revolution for the ps2 though (which is the same story, just remastered for ps2) there are 1000 lums and if i remember right, he eats one and the counter goes down.

J'avais repéré un truc dans une soluce complète, mais j'avais jamais réussi à trouver où était le passage, jusqu'à ce qu'en explorant la salle (vue 1ère personne) je trouve un genre de coupure dans le mur.

En fait, ce lums remet simplement ta vie à max, et il n'est pas compté dans le jeu (sauf lors de la sélection du slot de sauvegarde, où il te rajoute 0.01%).

Je pense aussi qu'il donne l'accès à des mini-jeux lorsque tu finis le jeu en ayant chopé tous les lums (mais j'ai jamais réussi à trouver ces mini-jeux...)

Yeah, that was a clever little trick they did there. Most people are like "99.9%, where the heck is that last one?!"

It's like Razorbeard ate it, but it exists anyway. 0.01 % is added to your completion, but not to your file capped at 999.

I have a belief that they originally intended on making it impossible to get 1000 by reducing it to 999 but they decided to throw it back in a an easter egg of some sort. That leads up to why I think that it's so well hidden. In Rayman 2 Revolution (PS2) you can get all 1000 and not have it capped of though because I guess that since they put the 1000th lum in all the other versions as an easter egg they decided to make it official in the PS2 version.

I have to admit I've never played the game before tonight. Just downloaded PSX and grabbed an image off the net.

I have to say the French are pretty inventive with both movies and video games. It's a pretty whimsical clever little game. PS1 came out when I was in my late 20s.
