This was one of my favorite songs on this whole game and of course this song was the first file to go corrupt on my PSX disc. :( And then a kid I babysat stole this game from me. Ugh :'( It wasn't even a "greatest hits" edition.
Damn...Now I remember (not 100%) all those sad moments...Major things I remember was Ted, Gremio, Rebel princess...Jesus man those parts sucked horribly. It was incredibly sad. d (T_T) b
How about when this theme played the moment you entered Leknaat's chamber alone? The tilt from the huge (and beautifully detailed) stained glass window, down to her and you, discovering the journey you're about to take...
It was the first time I played the game ever, when I watched the scene and thought that the story and plot was just as grand as any that Hollywood had given out to us so that we could enjoy them.
I'll always thank Konami for introducing me to the Role Playing Game genre.
Really the only bad thing to say about Suikoden I is that they didn't have distinct final boss music and the plot line with Windy got a little weak towards the end, a little more filler with Ted, Windy/Leknaat and the Souleater and Gate runes, and her involvement with Emperor Barbarosa, would have made it the perfect game.
@StewNWT The thing about Suikoden is, that you really only played the first chapter (Suikoden 1) of the giant story that is all the Suikoden games. Everything should be explained by the end. You know what I'm saying?
Somebody needs to kick Konami in the ass and finish the story. Yuber vs. Pesmerga please.
God I wish they would make a proper sequel to this game. Suikoden 2 was good and all but the subsequent games just got worse and worse, both in terms of music and also moving away from the watercolour art style towards more round faced cartoony designs.

This theme is both sad, but it later livens up, as if there's hope for later...
Even though Gremio was rather consticting, I was kinda sad he died.

This music piece was soooo good.

@StewNWT yea i agree with you. Suikoden 1 and two were really good. I wished sometimes life was a game.......maybe it is hell.

Reminds me when Gremio sacrificed himself for Tir. One of the most memorable scenes EVER. Especially the dialogue.

@mecha42 Gremio's sacrifice was infinitely more profound and heart-wrenching than Aerith's, IMHO. No contest.

Hmm.. The most memorable scene when I heard this song is... When the Elven home up in the tree is burning.
