They were uninhabited... any scholar will tell you the same. Britain laid claim to the land in the 17th century, and there has been a continuous British presence there since the 19th century. For two months Argentina occupied the islands, and that is what their false and dubious claim is built around. You need to learn some history.
@GhibliFan1 Nope, u Brits renounced those islands to Spain and came back to steal it. It is British history to take advantage of other countries to claim what was never urs. It is true that those islands had no native populations but it is also true the first ones born in those islands were argentinian as Spain gave them to the argentinians. Of course u brits kick them out and have a claim on the land that is now yours but it wasn't then. Same deal with Gibraltar, Jamaica and so on.

What this film of fails to tell you is that Argentina only had control of the Islands for 2 months, while Britain staked a claim in 1690 and have never renounced our RIGHTFUL claim. Over 80% of the islanders wish to remain BRITISH. The only time Argentine politicians raise the issue now is when they want to get elected, as they know it stirs the patriotism of the simple/uneducated but patriotic masses. Your country's claim to these islands is a joke, and you will never win them.

You made two mistakes, Argentinians are not uneducated at all but stupid, the other mistake is that you Brits renounced the islands and even recognized them as part of argentinian territory. You brits stole it however, when they went to war against you they lost it. One other thing, if you care educate yourself you'll see that Chile had a big hand in helping the brits otherwise those islands today would be argentinians.

@GhibliFan1 U fail to understand history and the truth. U brits have stole from many including Trinidad & Tobago from Venezuela as well British Guyana, Gibraltar is another example and so on. We Americans didn't put up with that shit and kick u out but we remain friends as long as u understand who's the boss. Those islands are british a 100% but not b/c of what u say is b/c u send colonizers and kick all argentinians out. Anyways u need to learn your own history before u talk shit to others

You pulled that out of your ass and well you know it. It is a recorded, historical FACT that the Falkland Islands had NO native population TO remove. They were uninhabited... any scholar will tell you the same. Britain laid claim to the land in the 17th century, and there has been a continuous British presence there since the 19th century. For two months Argentina occupied the islands, and that is what their false and dubious claim is built around. You need to learn some history.

@GhibliFan1 Nope, u Brits renounced those islands to Spain and came back to steal it. It is British history to take advantage of other countries to claim what was never urs. It is true that those islands had no native populations but it is also true the first ones born in those islands were argentinian as Spain gave them to the argentinians. Of course u brits kick them out and have a claim on the land that is now yours but it wasn't then. Same deal with Gibraltar, Jamaica and so on.

@GhibliFan1 It is British custom to replace or kick out populations of certain places and replace them with british colonizers to claim the land for urselves. The only reason u didn't steal India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and other places is b/c u couldn't kill all of them. The worst part of all is that u created a whole mess and now we Americans have to fix b/c ur incompetence is beyond any decent description. U need to learn history and stop being so blind to the truth

The red man has never recovered in any significant number and are blighted by drug and alcohol abuse because of their desperation. The buffalo herds were systematically hunted and destroyed by whites to purposefully reduce the population of natives, so I really recommend you learn some of your OWN history before trying to rewrite someone else's, fool.

@paroleable Las Malvinas fueron usurpadas en 1833. Y desde ese momento los ingleses establecieron allí su población. De este modo es obvio que los kelpers van a sentirse ingleses. Argentina desde aquel año reclamo constantemente por la devolución de las Islas.
