It is around 3gig of ram for windows XP or windows vista 32 bit. If you want to use more RAM, use Vista 64 bit.

If you use more ram, nothing happens, it is useless iirc. Just use 64 bit and you wont be wasting your ram!

yeah it will work with an intel quad core, windows xp 32 bit supports up to 4gb but only 3.2 or 3.5 in noticed, microsoft says that the other memory that is missing or subtrated from what u r using is going to some thing else in the os..

Windows XP can take 3GB, if you use more, it will most probably just ignore it or something, if you want to use the 16GB, get a 64-bit operating system

I got the asus p5q se and i love it. Its the p45 chip and fsb goes to 1600. e8500 @ 3.8 9x5 (fsb 400) - cpu v=1.275 - corsair 8500 cmx2 @ 3/4 5.5.5.18 - mem v=2.1 - 9800 gtx/+ runs awsome on this. I get over 500 fps in css and around 40-50 in crysis.

Yes. However i kept crashing in games at 3.8 so i went to 3.6 lowering the multiplier to 9.0 and keepen fsb at 400. This also allowed me to not up the voltage(was haven heat up to 64 degrees on prime for 1 hour at 3.8) i left it on auto and now heat is at 58 with 2 extra fans by cpu. Runs perfect. Yes the MB is very overclocking freindly. I dont know what the diff is however you can go to asus site and check specs. Im sure theres not much difference. I love mine. I may post a video :D.

I'm probably going to go for the P5QL in the January sales, because of the ddr3 option it gives you.

It's good to know that you can get the CPU that high with air cooling. Do you have a huge fan an HS on it, or is it like a stock cooler?

Yes i got a 40 dollar 120 mm thermaltake. With another 120 MM ziptied by it :D. (took away 4 degrees on prime, on 3.8, for 1 hour steady at 60 degrees). GL buddy. Sounds like your about to build a nice 1.

Sounds good. I've only got a P5N-MX right now with a dual core e2160 oc'd to 2.38Ghz. It's hard work with a small mobo like this thing. I put a fan cooler on the chipset, not sure how much difference it makes, but it was getting hot before and it seems cooler now.

When I get my new mb, I'll have to push the e2160 to over 3.0Ghz, because I've seen guys push it to over 3.5ghz.

780i - 790i the diffrence is the 780i supports ddr2 and the 790i supports ddr3

the 750i has only 2 pci-e 16 and supports ddr2

depends on my ambient. Average it's about 14-15 degrees celcius. right now though I have my window closed 'cos it's bloody freezing outside. Now it's idling at 28 degree's. but when I get the ambient down to 15 it idles at about 17 - 18 degree's. maxes out at 30 degree's.
