@JillBattleSlut it depends on how long they listen to 145+db music, if it is only for a few minutes then the ears shouldn't be permanently damaged. The louder music is, the less time you can be exposed to it without it damaging your ears. :) i love loud music, but i do not subject myself to more than a few minutes lest i go deaf :)

you do know that 160 and 180 dB's aren't even comparable right? because 180 dB's is 100x louder than 160 dB's... and steve meade has made a cadillac that runs at least 160. he sits in it and shows it off to people with them sitting in it sometimes. it's bearable. 160 dB of 1 kHz or 3 kHz, that's unbearable.

with one ddz you can hit 160 easy. usually in comp you want the resident frequency of your car which is usually around 35-45 hz.

Meade isn't build for spl, his is just a daily cruiser. i don't understand why people warship him and idolize him just because he has a nice ride and videos on youtube. People need to go to sound competitions instead of gaining all their knowledge off youtube.

The sub has barely any involvement in db's, and fyi the world record car is a EXTREME vehicle and nearly any speaker you put in their aslong as it could hold the power and respond accordingly to the enclosure would hit a very high number.

But the fact is, they picked the DDz because it could hold the power and respond accordingly, if they thought there was a better sub, they would have used it.
