I like this guitar a lot, but to me, I don't see why I'd buy it for 3,800$. I just got a carvin for 1,200$ with koa, coil taps, and a piezo bridge. I think it sounds better IMO. Maybe it's the koa. However, I do believe PRS looks better, and more suave. Not saying this guitar is bad at all, but to me, someone on a budget, it's not worth 3,800$. Btw, sounds great, what effects is he using at 2:50?
First, listen to the p22 demos with good headphones or speaker system. Secondly, if you're an acoustic purist then this is not for you. But if you're a modern guitar player and gigging musician with an open mind you should be able to instantly recognize how great this piezo sound is coming out of a PRS solidbody. PRS guitars are so naturally resonant that the acoustic qualities could only sound better amplified. Nothing will sound like our favorite acoustic but what a great live alternative!
Well, that sounds pretty good. Understanding that acoustics never sound as good to as they do unplugged. This is all moot since I'm a lefty. But hopefu
@benbrunskill Yup... It sounds like an acoustic sound from a solid body electric. A lot of factors make it different. It doesn't sound the same, but good luck getting a better acoustic sound out of a solid body electric. I'm impressed.
I'm amazed at how good that acoustic system sounds. That sounds better than a lot of plugged in dreadnaughts. How in the world did they get that good of a sound from piezos??
yes seriously...maybe I am just used to full sound of a dreadnought...but I did not like it for acoustic sound. That is why they make lots of choices...some you like and some you dont.
the acoustic does not sound like a top acoustic...i dont detect much sustain or warm tone....sounds to me like all they did was put acoustic pickup under strings...it has little bottom end at all. It is a compromise for an acoustic even if an amazing electric..... seems it was meant as an alternative if in a pinch but not to replace having an acoustic if needed. my two cents...
@ChiefBrock prs uses lr baggs piezo ... they are the quintessential guitar piezo maker and use metal saddle (meaning a lot of treble) ... the graphtech ghost system sounds far better and warmer by using a special piezo formula and surrounding the piezos in their "string-saver" saddles (made of teflon and other super-hard plastics) ... ghost saddles also produce better sustain and a more realistic acoustic and warmer electric sound ... get the prs and replace the bridge with a ghost equipped one
Awesome sound! Looks like a disco in there, I love the swirling sound... Can't wait for you to play for us next May 9th! Praise the Lord, Good Stuff! My daughter just got a new guitar if I show her this.... oh no....
I won't lie that sounds fantastic.. but for that amount I'd rather get something else..

VERY good for an acoustic sound from an electric guitar. There are other choices for this, but that ain't bad...

Awful acoustic sound. Doesn't even slightly sound like a real acoustic guitar. All phasey and light.

@benbrunskill You're not listening to the whole demo then. Start at the beginning and try watching it. I think it sounds good. I'm just poor.

Amp Used:
"The electric side was through a Dr Z Maz 38.
Acoustic was straight into DI, although I think they added a touch of delay in post production"
