  • I watched this movie this morning. But I was falling back to sleep, but I was trying to keep myself up so I could see the like 10 seconds of the song they play. And I was asleep but I heard it and my eyes went wide open....I couldn't go back to sleep after that.

  • @emilygray94 hey when do they play the song exactly? MA is on netflix instant stream but i dont want TOsit through the whole movie, it looks like a bore lol. so approxiamte for me buddy, 45 mins in, 1 hour in etc...

  • @andreap023 well, I would recommend watching the movie. its a great movie. but I'm not sure, but I know(well, I'm pretty sure) that its the scene at 1:46. its a really short clip of it, but again. its a great movie. So, I would just watch it all.

  • @emilygray94 meh, maybe ill watch the whole thing later. but i quickly skimmed through it to find the song. thnx for the help, it was used about and hour and 37ish minutes in

me he pasado toda la semana intentando sacarmela de la cabeza y na`mas nada... cautivadola la rola.... a su maxima expresion..........s

  • @kary5310 Yo estoy igual XD Saludos desde España.

  • Last week I saw the strokes at Hove festival and they played this song. Kirsten Dunst was standing on the sidelines watching their set (she was there cause her boyfriend is in bright Eyes, and they were playing there the same day). And when they started playing this song I immediately thought of the film and this clip :)

  • I miss the top rated comment being, "The guilitine, thats what happened"

  • @McMorphandouche

I wanted to vote you down so I'd be closer to the top, but I just can't. I love that comment :D

  • purrrfect

  • This song is particularly fitting because Marie Antoinette once said "There is nothing new except what has been forgotten."

  • ''I've got you to let me down''

    yes u do..

  • Fav movie + Fav Band.

  • again, what is with people not allowing embedding?

  • ... well that's a random combo.

  • @ilikewhips what's random? marie antoinette and the strokes? this song appeared on the soundtrack of sofia coppola's movie.

  • Also I think the whole song worked. "I want to be forgotten, and I don't want to be reminded." Kind of sums her character up. "She wanna be admired."

    It's perfect! And sad :(

  • Wow...

    That was great.

I'm probably the only person I know who actually loved this movie. :)

  • @kmacmuzikmafia27 its my favorite

  • Let them eat cake

  • The lovely and inspiring Marie Antoinette, the magic of the great Sophia Coppola and the fuckstatic amazingness of strokes. Now this my friends...is perfection <3

  • "i want to be forgotten, and i don't want to be reminded.." ? dude, are you serious ? with this song, i definitely doubt it <3

  • This song is WOW!

  • I dont mean to be a prick but the running scene from 1:30 on is pathetic! Haha i couldnt stop laughing. Some serious tight ass clothes she must be wearing.

  • @Nobsackme Maybe you should try running in a corset.

  • @Nobsackme I know you are. It's ok.

  • @youhavegeniusshins Totally agree. I did that on saturday.

  • wow... You have Really, REALLY nice socks.

  • rock...and...roll...

  • & if you dont like the strokes, your an asswipe.

  • I have replayed this about 15 times in a row already

  • 2 million views? why would you mix this great song with this movie?

  • @fifeslife Because it was in this even better movie.

  • @ilovetati91 movie probably sucked

  • @BarryProvolone Roger Ebert, the premiere movie reviewer, gave it four out of four stars, along with several other top reviewers. It was nominated for best film at the Gotham Awards and made the New York Time's Top 10 films of 2006. It was widely misunderstood by critics who panned it, as pointed in by Ebert's review. What's even worse is people like you, who haven't even seen the film, who claim it is bad because of your own insecurity with a film that's too "emotional or feminine." People...

  • @ilovetati91 listen bro, i don't give a flying fist fuck about what some guy said about this movie. i don't care about the star rating it got. i CERTAINLY don't give a fuck about what the papers said.

no, i actually did watch the movie, but was left very disappointed.

    you wanna know why?

    THEY DID NOT FUCKING DIE!!!!!

  • @BarryProvolone Right, because the film was trying to show the human side of a person who has been labeled as a terrible person, "Everyone in the audience knows Marie Antoinette was beheaded and I fear we anticipate her beheading with an unwholesome curiosity. Coppola brilliantly sidesteps a beheading, and avoids bloated mob scenes by employing light, sound and a balcony to use Marie's death as a curtain call." Coppola's films focus on the here and now.

  • @ilovetati91 here& now=1700's france?

  • @BarryProvolone In terms of the main characters. Sorry, should have clarified that.

  • @ilovetati91 you're a fucktard

    should have clarified that >:D

  • @ilovetati91 sophia said that she didnt want to go that direction with the movie because it was years they were in jail...and this wasnt going to be a mini series. It was only a movie about MA.we all know the king, queen and 8year old son die.her eldest daughter was imprisoned until she was 17.the only one who lived.

I didnt need to see any of that part....even if all the rumors were true, why behead them and kill a child??

  • @fifeslife cause it was in the film

  • i love the parts where she is spinning in the field and when her lover looks back as he is riding away. jamie dornan is his name right? he looks so charming in this movie.

  • the part where she is twirling in the field is one of my favorites. fits so well with this song.

  • I love this video every time i see it.

It seems like she was just living out the life most dream about.

  • 113 people dont wanna be forgotten reminded and they want life harder

  • my stepdad LOVES the strokes

  • I love this movie so much!

I'm trying t get my friends to watch it!

  • he does use voice distortion

    But hes still freaking amazing

  • @lingo381 i knew he uses effects through most of his songs, but this one just gave me a little nudge that he maybe using auto-tune. But yeah he is an amazing vocalist, Love The STROKES

  • is he using auto-tune around the chorus part. Or is it some kind of effect like vocoder.

  • wooow nice song :D

  • the strokes**

  • I kind of Wish this amazing song wasn't used in a movie about a spoiled bitch who gets her head cut off.

The Strokes are just one of those bands I can keep listening and listening too.

Sooo many fucking great songs...every album on repeat for hours=happy happy place

  • @ThinCrustPizza67 Well, maybe if you had taken the time to educate yourself or, God forbid, watch the movie than maybe you would discover that the film is about showing another side to the person everyone deems as "spoiled." People like you are the reason great films like this are so misunderstood and unnoticed.

  • At first I thought he said "I wanna be poseidon, she wanna be my trident"

  • @SirCheezey ahahahahah with this u are my hero of the day :D

  • What a combination right? Weird but good :) Adore the strokes*
