Well, some have different tastes and likes a very unique game, and the story of XII is told in such a different way than the other FF game's I've played. So you can say that's why I and I'm sure many others would agree to that XII is a good game.
I presume that you have played dissidia and seen that shantotto were the only one from XI and no vilian were present som said game. And Gabranth counter balanced that, being vilian from XII and no hero present from XII.
It doesn't matter. The lack of XII's protagonist really shows where SquareEnix's priorities are going: A step in the right direction. When the main antagonist is more liked than the protagonist, you know they need to rework something. :3

This game looks like garbage. Reminds me of Budokai. Another awful game. Why is square working on this garbage when they aren't releasing any next-gen RPGS? We want RPGs! Its been since 2006 we got a good square rpg. 3 years without shit. And now they are delaying FF13 another year so they can please thier shareholders and make it count towards the NEXT fiscal year. :(
While I dont necessarily agree that RPGs are dead with FF12, I do agree that it was an awful excuse when compared to the rest of the franchise. When the revealed the huge plot that was going on, i practically yawned.

I agree, Antichung. RPGS used to be about the story. and War games / FPS were about the visuals. RPGs branched out too far to capture the audience.
While the visual effects are stunning. It just lacks the same kind of emotion that was placed in the other games [especially Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy started going downhill with Final Fantasy 10-2. Even 10 was OK but everything after 10 just ruined everything I'd loved about the series. Final Fantasy basically became a movie.
I COMPLETELY AGREE with theantichung.. Final Fantasy 7-10, Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross.. just a few to name that were great hits.. now, what's left?

He's a great character and a hero. He was nobody. He didn't make to solider. He have mako in his body but he was no hero. He have a tormated past too he must face and behind it.

Well, Actually, Thing is, Cloud gives me that depression look. He doesn't give me that "Hero" Appearence (in personality and stuff) even though he is. Squall, He actually is more transforming in my opinion. He went from a loner and he opened up. And funny thing is... Always in FF, There's a hero, A love intrest, and a villian. But not in this one. Well the love intrest anyhow.
There is no trans-am system in ff9. There's this little something called Trance, though. It turns Zidane pink and gives him access to really powerful attacks.

I disagree with you. Cloud is not overrated.
I think the fans expose Cloud too much, like him for the wrong reasons (appearance), or didn't understand him because of the storyline.
He's a great character and a hero. He was nobody. He didn't make to solider. He have mako in his body but he was no hero. He have a tormated past too he must face and behind it.
He have lost his friends, family (his mother killed) and blame him for the planet.
I understand FF7 now.

If you put all the heroes and which one is more like a "real" hero....well my opinion is Cloud.
He's isn't Zidane, but he's human like me. He's proablily the most connective character I know in FF.
The problem is that many fans and non-fans don't see it maturely.
They always say " he's emo" or "gay" or some immatue.
You have to go re-play to understand like reading a book.
He has a heroic character too.

Well, Actually, Thing is, Cloud gives me that depression look. He doesn't give me that "Hero" Appearence (in personality and stuff) even though he is. Squall, He actually is more transforming in my opinion. He went from a loner and he opened up. And funny thing is... Always in FF, There's a hero, A love intrest, and a villian. But not in this one. Well the love intrest anyhow.

There is no trans-am system in ff9. There's this little something called Trance, though. It turns Zidane pink and gives him access to really powerful attacks.
