  • what a beautiful animal.

  • how do you sex one of these anyway? ive looked everywhere but it seems there´s no clear way to find out other than when one of them is pregnant

  • @01010101346 I think it has something to do with their pedipalps. If its a male then the length of the peds will surpass the 'knees' on the front legs, and they wont if its a female. I think.

Going on this theory, mine is female and this one is male

  • Monstrous...But very cool!

  • in the durango sierra in mexico this things are common, we would often find them in our home... under our beds... scary shit

  • a snack for Bear Grylls.

  • where did you get it, im about to buy some but their the ones from florida and their not as big

  • i found these under my bed alll the time...in southern mexico...positive it was this! yet range says : Tanzania and Kenya??

  • @dvddjscottymack I've seen them in Costa Rica

  • @dvddjscottymack there's a mexican species, it has reddish pedipalps (claws)

  • @Kickasss119 aaah...these things were the scariest looking thing i have ever seen...the local population was very confused as to whether they were bad or good

  • @dvddjscottymack yah they're harmless. but ive heard folk stories of them foaming at the mouth, hissing, and jumping at people if threatened. i think only the hissing is true

  • @dvddjscottymack D.diadema is native to africa. there are other whip scorpion species around other parts of the world :D

  • i guess the reason that these things don't bother me so much is that they can sting or bite, only pinch. Most spiders freak me out cause they cn cause serious illnesses and although i sounds kinda pathetic i am mortally afraid of horse flies. I can stand a wasp or a bee flying in my car, but one time a horse fly flew in an i almost wrecked the inside of my car i was flipping out so bad. But anyway yah, cool whip scorp

  • Very beautiful :D

  • The front limbs on that beastie scare me.

  • whats the name of the song?

  • so thats the name of that arachnid a tailess whip scorpion ay

  • Oh my fucking god thats huge!

  • Jealous... want one. It's similar to taking care of an emperor right? 75-85 degrees F and 80%ish humidity right? Only these guys prefer height to floor space and they need things to climb on. If anyone has a link to a care guide for these guys please let me know. Thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • it would make nice tarantula food lolz..

  • @ultum4tegunz I 2nd that lol

  • I had the volume all the way up so when the video began I jumped :>

  • This song sounds like its from the Diablo video games... stay awhile a listen

  • i dare you to put a small meal worm in your pee hole and have the vingaroon whip it out

  • Awww, something about it just makes you want to...AVADA KEDAVRA!!

  • is it actually a scorpion or is that just part of the name? because i know it has the claws but the body structure differs from every other kinda scorpion i've ever seen

  • @deliciousd2 They're a separate order of arachnid from the "traditional" scorpion.

  • ...Why is this song always used on something fucked up/creepy.

  • BLAST IT WITH PISS!!!

  • Didn't they eat these on Fear Factor?

  • @Clay3613 yep and after that they were throwing tomahawkes ;)

  • We have plenty for grabs in our garage. The scare the sh*t out of us.

    BRRRRRRRRR

    Durban - South Africa

  • @annie46664 You should grab them and make them fight to the death., :p

  • @LJPV777 ~ No wonder the world is currently in such a mess. Your & others comments here make my mind spin, wondering what upbringing & general education you guys are receiving to even be able to begin to process the mere thoughts you've expressed. It's both nerving & very sad. :(

    ~South Africa~

  • @annie46664 Notice the :p at the end. I was joking. I'm afraid of bugs. If you really must know, I was brought up well and got a good education. These things just creep me out. A few comments on an internet video definetly aren't making the world a mess. Worry about bigger issues than a bug being hurt.

  • @LJPV777 ~ Awww THANKS for taking the time & care to respond, & sorry for having missed your :p

Now I can easily tell that you're from good 'stock' boy! :) Enjoy your summer vacation & send some warmth this way if you have any to spare, because it's so unusually freezing cold down here on the east coast of Southern Africa. Those spiders must surely have joined the snakes & gone into hibernation! Thanks God. :)

    ~Durban~

  • @annie46664 I'm so glad you enjoyed my comment. ~God

  • @LJPV777 ~ HA HA HA ~ Yeah! thanks God. :p :p

Your newest friend far, far away,

    ~@~

  • @annie46664 No problem

  • @blackMEETYOURMAKER

diffrent, i am in europe, so i can tell you the price in €

its very diffrent, ich saw on for 15€ each, and one for 30€ reach, so 15 - 30€,

but i would never buy one for 30€ :o its too expensive

  • @thenebelwerk Well, that's worth it. Im in Asia, actually in Indonesia and im a arachnids lover. That Damon's price same as trapdoor spider, may because its hard to find and I very-very love it somuch

  • i like how it looks like they have little eyes on their backs

  • you can find them in southern mexico as well, but they are rare

  • one of the most alien looking creatures i've ever seen

  • That's a pseudo scorpion the whip and a whip

  • @MrThecatzrule pseudo scorpions arent much bigger than an ant T.T this is a tailless whip scorpion

  • after seeing these bug videos that i have recently watched (today) im very glad that bugs are not bigger than humans.

  • I came here to watch this to not be scared, but then you add that music...

  • these things look like something out of starship troopers!

  • they used the tailess whip scorpian in harry potter 4

    i thought it wasn;t real

  • they used one of these for the fourth harry potter movie

  • Does ANYBODY KNOW THESE THINGS LIFESPAN?

  • These are Not Whip SCorpions Thes e are Whip Spiders!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how is that thing even have the name scopian

  • these things are so amazing and beautiful they are just SO amazing rockon damon diadema whip scorpions etc etc

  • Where's the claw? And where did you get it

  • awesome animal but thats not a " Tailless ScoRpioN " xD

i have those animals and i know that is a Spider :P

  • @TWJorDisOn1 dude this thing is TAILLESS whip scorpion, not a spider...

  • @TWJorDisOn1

    Actually, it's neither.

    It's just an arachnid.

  • it's the one Mad Eye Moody tortures on Harry Potter

  • I had to go give my snakes a cuddle after watching this~

I'm considering maybe getting myself one or two when I've my own place and have everything settled down as it should be. I'm in absolute love with these creatures. <3

  • I think I sow one of this in Cancun, Mexico. It's freaky

  • ohh my god your hand is deformed

  • where's bear grylls when you need him?!

  • I want one, awesome critter.

  • This isn't really scary without the music.

  • Oh god no sleeping for me tonight

  • Go to Hatari invertabrates

  • how would someone go about getting one of these

  • @underwearfan5 pet store

  • i love how they look like they came from another planet . beautiful

  • the only 2 bugs im afraid of are these fucking things and camel spiders

  • are they fast?

  • Looks like an enemy you would fight in FFVIII

  • the whip spider why the hell does everyone call um scorpions its a god damn spider the whip SPIDER

  • its a whip spider

  • they look like crabs

  • I have one, not poisonous but skittish.

  • DUDE what is the song (it sure doesn't sound like drowning pool)

  • I can see why this thing would be used in the Harry Potter movie. It's just so unusual looking! But none the less cool.

  • Whip SPIDER.

  • The pedipalps are HUGE!

  • No they're not poisonous

  • That's beautiful!

  • i love the music... gives it an intense vibe to the scene

  • Are they true Scorpions, exboyz04?

  • these animals re so incredible and fascinating to me....btw love the song^^

    beautiful!!!!!

  • HOLY CRAP!!! you know what I just realized!!!! that's the thing in the 4th Harry potter movie (woah that was geeky)

  • are they agressive at all?

  • got nine tarantulas, few scorpions but these are one of my favourites. i've thrown two girls into one tank with a boy because they live like that, in other words - harems. quite intresting are their satellite limbs, they can really reach great heights when stretched.

  • Got to handle one today. These things are beyond cool. Video doesn't do them justice. Otherworldly, graceful....and so light you don't even feel them walking on you.

  • what are the hole looking things on its back for?

  • How do they taste?

  • I'm buying one as a pet. They're not poisonous, and the only harm they'll do apparently is to a cockroach or a cricket once every fortnight, or so. Really interesting critter. they walk like a crab but look like Las Plagas from Resident Evil 4. I'm naming mine Princess, Herbie, or Derka Derka, to match their evil-looking-ness.

  • I remember seeing those in the King Kong remake, only there they were about as big as a dog...

  • fucking horrible

  • this is amazing man!

  • Can i train them to hunt in packs, to eat things larger than them? Preferably to take over canada?

  • harry potter much?

  • @ThePureawesomness what why?

  • @Stormeris In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Professor Moody uses one of these as an example.

  • do they bite??? and if they do does it hurt??

  • Their beautifully ugly haha Id love to add a couple of these to my collection!

  • What fucking layer of hell did those things come from?

  • i had one of those in my house it scared the shit out of me

  • sweet.....

  • it's so cute

    seriously

  • @wegotthebeadz well this type is not but the normal whip spider is because it shoots a acid out of its rear end that can be very harmful to predators which is why the whip scorpion has been around for over 400million years

  • whats the point of having such an ugly ass looking insect. i would feed these to my chameleons rather than taking care of it.

  • that scorpion looks badass..

  • Simplemente horrible, yo veo una y si la piso!!!! =S

  • theyre ugly=(

  • Don't these spray a vinegar-like substance?

  • There are these in Mexico too

  • what do u reccomend feeding them ?

  • @gigaboot2

Chrickets that are no longer than one of there claws or they wont eat it.

  • @exboyz04

  • Hello, i have experience with giant millipedes and i am thinking of getting one of these but im just wondering if they can bite or pinch and if they are likely to?

    Ty

  • @Scullnblades

Nah they have never hurt me at all, very gental, but they can stress out if you keep handleing them like most annimals best left un disturbed.

  • @exboyz04

Thanks for responding, i guess i'll be getting one of these guys next haha ;)

  • @Scullnblades

They would be ok together and keep out of each others way.

  • the music suits this thing

  • reminds me of a Head Crab

  • ae they poisinus

  • @wegotthebeadz

    No not at all...

  • @exboyz04 i thought they were called whip spiders? i saw it of a program that they are one of the world's fastest spiders!

  • @TheRugbyfullback

its niether a scorpion or a spider, but its own type, has no poisonous fangs or telson and is more closley related to vinegaroons and Solifugids

  • I actually found one of these at my aunt's house in Arizona on her stariwell. I took a pic of it, and asked my bio teacher what it was and this is what he says it is. Not nearly as big as the one in this vid. Very creepy movement, kinda like a crab. Very cool though.

  • bet you was supprised to find it there lol

  • VERY nice!

    I got one too =D

But mine is not very big.

  • they take a while to grow big :O)

  • These things are weird.......and freaky. Looks like something aliens would put inside of you

  • Thats what i love about them

  • @JediTomkat LOOOOOOOOOOL that is one ugly motherfucker!

  • oh f*** that s***! thats some crap

  • i hope to get one soon all i need is the best set up to keep one in afteri have got some more info on them i will be geting 2 :) and in the UK you ccan get them but i do not no over ther mate sorry :)

  • yes it is

  • No animal lives that long, scorpions live up to 8 years.

  • Tarantulas can reach 20+ years, depending on the species, some to just over 30 years as far as im informed.

  • my friends cat is 23

turtles can live to 200 years

  • Yes well this isnt a mammal nor is it a reptile. It is a scorpion, an insect or arachnid if you will. All research i have done says scorpions live to be 8 years but in this case i think the animal is a trantula which i know can live up to 25 years and some times (lucky ones) 30...
