The reason i love the star wars movies is because. The creator wanted the audience to see Darth Vader as a victim of the darkside not the villain that people first seen him as in the first 3 movies

He truly turned to the darkside for a good reason he just wanted to save his love... and in the 4th, 5th and 6th movie after you watch 1,2 and 3 your not supposed to see a man who wants power but a man whos lost everything he ever loved

Don't get me wrong Vader was powerful but after he got messed up on Mustafar and put in that suit....most of his force powers were diminished and he couldn't reach his full potential....being part man and part machine.That suit was heavy and slowed him down and limit his movement.

in one of the books ( the one with xisor) it says he could use the dark side to heal himself but he cant keep up a feeling of anger or hate long enough since he feels happy at the thought of healing himself or something like that. goes to show force is good for healing and medetation and stuff but darkside is good for combat.

Anakin turned to the 'Dark Side' because of his inability to control his emotions, he left his mum as a nine year-old, that was tough, she then died, he had a vision of losing Padmé, Palpatine then tells him if he turned (essentially) he would be able to stop Padmé from dying. He thought he had to, once he saw what Obi-Wan had done he attacked Obi-Wan, he thought there was no going back, additionally he NEEDED to save her.

Obi-Wan was discovered as an infant and trained by the Jedi. He was completely loyal to the Jedi and the Senate, unlike Anakin who was loyal to Palpatine. He wouldn't have turned.

The whole reason Anakin fell to the Dark Side was that he entered Jedi training too late and never learned to control his emotions. Palpatine then preyed on those emotions, manipulating an unbalanced Jedi into becoming a Sith.

He fell to the dark side because he had all of this pent-up anger from his mother dying, feelings that the Jedi Council was "holding him back"...and the foresight he had of his wife dying. I am a huge star wars fan not just the movies but the expanded universe but I do like some material more than others I cant say I dislike any of it but we all have favorites and to say you dont is an out right lie !!!!!!!!!! I grew up during the original trilogy so it is dear to me. But I have seen every star wars when it was released up to this point, and will continue to do so. for some fans who werent around during the release of the 1st trilogy its hard to understand.

@Ryugishi How can you be a true Star Wars and misspell Anakin? Alone these prequels would have never gathered so much success or such a large following. Had the Phantom Menace been released without the original Star Wars trilogy behind it Lucas would have been laughed out of cinema and never been able to produce Attack of the Clones or ROTS. Episode 1 has been ridiculed by critics and fans alike, it's just a bad movie in general, not just Jar Jar. Clones had terrible dialogue and effects.

Well actualy i do not mind about those crossover prequels. Because at all i loved the ep. 4 to 6. And i wuz very happy seeing the phantom menace cuz it would mean a whole new saga should begin. I think Obi-Wan succeeded more than most give credit to him for.... Just imagine if Anakin had walked off Mustafar untouched, he would have been able to fuck up Sidious, Luke Skywalker, the Rebellion and whomever else he would have desired. Obi-Wan had done the Galaxy a favor, I suppose, by creating a weaker Vader in an iron lung.

Not at all. You don't have to like everything about a particular franchise in order to be a fan of it. Compare both trilogies and it's clear that movies 1-3 fall well short of the high watermark set by 4-6.
