I may have spoke too soon. I was thinking that it was about 1994. I think I may be confused because of all the chatter at that time for Tyson and Foreman to fight. Who had the title at that time? Foreman was extremely vulnerable to counter punches coming in. That's very dangerous against Tyson, extremely fast and hard hitter, especially with the left hook. Foreman throws his punches from a mile away. He's easy to counter punch when you have a fighter with the speed of Tyson.

Tyson took beatings from Holyfield as well and never went down. Tyson took a lot of punishment, even when far past his best, and it still took rounds to put him down.

that's very true. tyson lasted to the 11th i believe in the first fight with holyfield until it was stopped. but foreman's reach and power was greater than lennox's, and lennox destroyed mike. true, mike was old and past his prime at the time, but he would have been to fight big george as well. foreman said himself tyson ducked him. foreman tried to challenge mike when he first returned, and iron didn't want to fight him. young mike would beat any george though.

Foreman had lots of boasts, but he ahd to struggle with second raters. He couldn't even knock Tommy Morrison out, and ducked Tony Tucker to the point of relinquishing one of his titles.

yes. tyson's style in the early part of his career would undoubtedly lead to a strategy where tyson would persistently try to move inside and out to frustrate and tire foreman, all while landing combos and punches from a variety of angles that foreman's block, though unbelievable, would be unable to completely elude. young mike would take advantage of the fact that foreman generally threw powerful punches while planted that were swung from wide angles that tyson could counter.
