I know they're great for jazz, blues, rock, etc. But how do they do for metal? Stuff like Opeth, and some highgain technical stuff like Sikth. Are they worth getting for that kind of playing? i'm looking for some versatile pickups, I mainly play sorts of metal, but diversity is nice.

Advice to you all: Don't buy Line 6, it's got a digital sound and no one should want that. Invest in a more expensive tube (or even solid state) amp.. Believe me, it's worth it !
Actually, Spider has a tube amp model called the Valve. It uses the digital modeling hardware we all know (and hate, lol) and couples it with some pretty sweet tubes.
Well, it sounds so digital and fake (for me). I mainly use an 1988 Marshall JCM800 MKII 2204 amp which sounds WAY better. It sounds better than many amps I've heard.

hehe thanks man ! I Bought this one from elderly for about 1800$ .. It's a 2000 model and I love it ! well.. My amp istn's great, I use a Marshall JCM 800 MKII 2204 for band practice which is WAY better than a Line 6 crap hehe ! Though Line 6 are very good with digital effects n' stuff
