Lol, you can easily tell who are and are not paramedics in these comments... If any of you who are sayin he had to much free time on his hands actually knew anything about medic school you would know that this video barely scratches the surface of the amount of calls you run. This is maybe 5% of the situations he was put in. as long as you don't show the patient's face or any other information that can identify the person, you're not violating HIPAA. your department or service may have rules against the camera use, but there's nothing wrong in photographing the scene once the patient is out of the picture.
All I can say is that ya'll do it different out west, In Texas where I'm going to school to get my paramedic at this present time, If you have a camera, they will kick you out of school, Doesn't matter if you are at school, in the hospital, or on the truck. It is also this way at my EMS job here in Lubbock.
That must be a company policy. With approval from the service you can take a camera with you, even here in Texas. It falls under freedom of the press. HIPPA can only be violated if you show the patients face or give a means of easy identity. However if you have permission from the patient or power of attorney you can even state their name.

It must have been nice to be able to do nothing more than violate the patient's privacy with your camera. In my service, if you take a picture, you lose your job.
that was a sick flyout (the motorcyclist) we got in hella trouble for goin out there but my preceptor wanted me to see a REAL flyout as opposed to my shitty one's lol. you got all the good traumas lucky!
