  • @carolinehill ... Register for an EMT Basic program, usually a semester long. Then practice as an EMT for about a year. Find a Paramedic program and Register, usually around 3 semesters(1 year).

  • the scene. These are acceptable times to examine the scene for learning . You want to critisize , man up go to medic school , that includes firefighters( cause I know you guys hate medics taking the spotlight). .... Btw thanks for the video

  • Lol, you can easily tell who are and are not paramedics in these comments... If any of you who are sayin he had to much free time on his hands actually knew anything about medic school you would know that this video barely scratches the surface of the amount of calls you run. This is maybe 5% of the situations he was put in. If you pay attention in the video you would see that he takes the pictures and vids, when approaching the scene(scene size up) and after the patients are transported from

  • how did you find out about this internship? I want to be in this business and I wanted to know where to begin.

  • gotta love the "interns" they think they know everything...... they need to shut up sit back and learn and not act like a educated medical professional...

  • wow this medic student has too much time on his hands how the heck did you get away with this? internships are crazy busy and you should be running the calls not a camera!

  • Thanx for makin a vid man I want to be a paramedic and thanx for tha song name

  • i want to be a paramedic p.s what is the nameof that song

  • Its a remix of Ready or not from the fugees its the aphrodite (sp?) remix.

  • I agree!!! When I was an intern, I barely had anough time to take a crap at quarters let alone take pictures at scene!!!! Nice Vid though...

  • what is CP with SOB

  • CP=Chest pain SOB= Shortness of Breath

  • chest pains - shortness of breath

  • sounds like a good internship with some good contacts and traumas

  • as long as you don't show the patient's face or any other information that can identify the person, you're not violating HIPAA. your department or service may have rules against the camera use, but there's nothing wrong in photographing the scene once the patient is out of the picture.

  • All I can say is that ya'll do it different out west, In Texas where I'm going to school to get my paramedic at this present time, If you have a camera, they will kick you out of school, Doesn't matter if you are at school, in the hospital, or on the truck. It is also this way at my EMS job here in Lubbock.

  • That must be a company policy. With approval from the service you can take a camera with you, even here in Texas. It falls under freedom of the press. HIPPA can only be violated if you show the patients face or give a means of easy identity. However if you have permission from the patient or power of attorney you can even state their name.

  • they have to call it DIB (difficulty in breathing) nowadays in alot dept.s cause people mistook SOB as son of a ***** ha.

  • How do you think they make all the recruitment videos? With proper permission you can identify anyone.

  • weak . . .don't worry they got it

  • Why does the Medic student have enough time to be taking videos of incidents?

  • EXACTLY what I was thinking. Extremely odd.

  • great video!!!!!

  • guessing this is cali cuz of the steady burn red on the front of the bus....??

  • Awsome video, great music. one question where did you intern? Post more videos!

  • in the future, would it be possible to include subtitles with the abbreviations? CP with SOB? it would be helpful to the non-medic layperson.

  • MVA: motor vehicle accident

    CP: chest pain

    SOB: shortness of breath

    MCI: mass casualty incident

    ALOC: altered level of consciousness

    ETOH: ethanol (short for alcohol)

I apologize for the abbreviations to the unknowing...

  • What did you think of the your paramedic school? What area did you internship in?

  • Everyday man , 24/7 !

  • THAT'S HOW WE DO IT OUT ON THE ....

that was a sick flyout (the motorcyclist) we got in hella trouble for goin out there but my preceptor wanted me to see a REAL flyout as opposed to my shitty one's lol. you got all the good traumas lucky!

  • THIS IS A HIPAA VIOLATION, REPORTED! lol jk man.. nice stuff don't forget your BSI; SCENE SAFTY!

  • whats the song?
