we didn't watch the original Tonight Show presentation but there's something wrong with: 2m25s on this video. We're 98% certain that the solo there was cut, not only because of the harmony's structure, but also from the solo's "story" which makes no sense from 2m22s to 2m26s. Anyone catch that?

Santana used to be a great guitarist, when he actually participated WITH a band of great musicians. Santana started as a blues-based band and their first 2 albums really reflect this before they began to move in a more Latin-inspired direction. Furthermore Santana has produced a number of excellent Jazz albums (Borboletta and Caravanserai as examples).
