  • What makes Elizabethan harmony so distinct ?

  • fantastic............

  • Gorgeous.

  • The song is thought by some to be attributed to Essex, the Queen's troublesome young courtier. The galliard version of the tune was published by Dowland with the dedication to Essex while she was still alive; the song with the words, which may point directly to the aging queen's subterfuges at maintaining her beauty, and her infertility, were not published until after she died.

  • great music!

  • delightful tune

  • Sincerely I prefer Andras Scholl.

  • This arrangement transports the listener back five hundred years. Brilliant!

  • One of my favourite lute songs... John Dowland was definately the top composer of meloncholy music

  • Heel mooi gezongen.

  • the great Gerard Lesne, one of my favorite countertenors

  • Proprio bello...

  • Magnificent!!! A performance up there with Pears, Bowman and the other early music greats.

  • Well Britton, where are your country going now?

  • A delight to the senses. Dowland's music is often underrated, but it's absolutely wonderful
