My next trip is the first of October to Oklahoma so get to look around a couple creeks. Not a bad day is this the same cave where your pipes came from?
Nice one, like you said, looks like a worked down Rice turned into a drill, Never know maybe theres another matching one there and they were both stuck into each end of a big deer roast over a fire, LOL!!
Nice find. That black middle looks like it came from my neck of the woods. I liked seeing the stratification on where you dig. I hope to get into that type of digging someday.
looks like a worked down etley or a number of other possibilities. The clean out theory is good one, because, if different cultural inhabitants discovered and re discover the cave each time they would have work to do before they moved in ...like gather up the ash and trash put it in a pile; mixing things up each time.
If the Rice's are on the bottom it makes me wonder if they cleaned the place out and thats why some of those oldie-but-goodies are out past the dripline?
@beveledblade That's a good theory. This place has always been hard to figure out the stratigraphy. The cultural deposits have been mixed in ancient times.
if i had a place were indians were in my back yard... i would not sleep....... for years.... i would be in that yard sifting every single patch of dirt, then turn it into a indian sanctuary with nice flute music and drums. amen.
That is a keeper Mr Billy! Just think of what you may find next in there, keep lookin.
