  • This is such a beautiful song with a latino swing to it, very smooth and mellow. I love this song very much. Brenda Russell really does a beautiful job singing this song. And if I'm not mistaken the video was taped in New York, keep up the good work Brenda Russell. Brenda Russell also sangs the song Piano In The Dark.

  • The best of her

  • this is a beautiful song!!! I would love to visit New York!!!

  • All the memories of my first 32 years in NYC. Convincing beautiful Young women that walking was so much more romantic then cabs. Le Jardin to Chelsia, Soho to Grand Central. East Village wonders of enbrocette Bass to the UN PLaza Hotel

8 peice Electrified Jazz Band on Columbus circle welcoming us from the subway Later Children with EYES as big as fresbees learning to understand REAL life

This song is the sum of the gentleness, excitement, wonder of NYC

  • awsome ,,, vocals get me every time ,,

  • Always been a huge fan..........she is so underrated, she never compromised her music for the masses (good for her) there's enough shit out there, that's why she probably never got much airplay in the U.K.

I was lucky enough to see her perform in London, she only came over the once............pity.

She is and always has been one of my absolute favorites. "Way Back When" and "In The Thick of It" are 2 of my favorite songs ever. And who can forget her song that was one of Luther Vandross greatest hits, "If Only For One Night"....a Brenda Russell masterpiece!

  • I've loved Brenda Russell since "So Good, So Right" and when "Love Life" came out, I played it to death...I love everything about her from her immense talent as a singer, song writer, producer and her spirit, last but least her humanity and beauty!

  • Brenda is a class, class act with very serious talent. She has a timeless style and I'm certain that she is still rising inrecognition. This young lady is also a very attractive, sweet looks, very pleasing to the eye. Talent, looks, and good attitude - she's going to make it! Did I mention that she is our favorite, and most listened to young lady singer? Love that smile!

  • Fabulous song. Brenda Russell is beautiful !

  • The song is pure mood music and just makes you badly want to be in the bright lights of NYC. On that level, she has the same effect as Frank Sinatra and Billy Joel.

  • I am screaming like a Mad Man. This is fantastic music and I hear of it a year later. Music has lost it's magic if I hear this song and Gloria Estafan's A Bailar a year after it's release.

  • I just discovered Brenda Russell and her "Paris Rain" CD which includes this fantastic song. If you are just discovering Brenda as well, check out the "Paris Rain" CD ~ you will be enthralled by the beauty of this singer and her songs. Awesome talent!

Thank you for posting this video!

  • How awesome!!! - sad to say - the yuppie corporate capitalists are trying to suck all of the unique culture from New YorK - pushing the little mom & pops out to make room for huge, empty, cold, faceless buildings that lack the charm and personality that New York was once famous for - Italian, Jamaican, Polish, Asian, Greek - the blend of ethnicities is being obliterated by the Machine. Rage Against the Machine - whenever possible!!!!

  • Agreed every major city is going through this change so sad.

  • @mpjproducer Capitalism built this country, don't you read or have any regard for history. Get a job, get off the socialist jumbo and think for yourself. NY has always been a city of change, and that's because of our foreign immigrants looking for their free spirit and pursuit.

  • @b1lc1s I tell you who and what built this country - Black Americans toiled for 400 hundred years as slaves -100% free labor - that is the epitome of Capitalism and that my friend has left a horrible stain on American history. Capitalism is exploitative and it kills, it may work for a very slim percentage - 3% the rest of us - including people of all nationalities and ethnicities are badly injured by capitalism - in a capitalist economy even though there is plenty, there is never enough

  • @mpjproducer You see things in dim light. You are actually here because of capitalism, speaking your mind, in freedom. You socialists are like cancer eating your host...

  • Have not walked in NYC in at least 30 years last time Manhattan and Queens when I was in grade school in the early seventies but I love Spumoni can't hardly find it here in South Cack

Mr. Chips in SC & Thanx for post BR is finely fantastic love her In the thick of it (my fave)

  • A lovely video and a wonderful song.

  • Brenda Russell is so overlooked. The music industry today is so flooded with useless talent. They overlook talent like Brenda Russell. Everything in the music industry is all about looks and NEVER about talent. Thats horrible. Things will change I hope otherwise that sorry so called music industry will fall.

  • @gentlesoul82 i agree completely, mainstream music is just empty plastic containers stained with cheap fattening salty TV dinners, where as music of this calibur is a hot steel plate topped with your grandma's Thanksgiving FEAST! lol Thats y u always come back for more!

  • simply beautiful :)

  • Yup. Just found this song and I just love it.

  • Hey that's Mary Wilson with Brenda! Great

  • Brenda Russell is a true talent. Her music is so uplifting, and always consistent. She is a hidden gem in a world of superficial singing.

  • Beautiful & Inspiring- I'm drawn 2 Brenda's artistry & grace~

  • You can really feel the 'energy ' of New York in this song it was cleverly written and represented well in the video. There is no disputing that Brenda is a talented artist, I LOVE HER!

  • brings me to my happy place. ha ha. really though, good stuff.

  • I heard this song 5~6 yrs ago and it's been one of my best songs ever. It smells like NY listening to this song..
