This is really bothering me, I saw video a few months back with a similar conecpt to this but I can't find it anymore I don't remmeber the name, author, I don't even know the name of the song playing in the background. none of the related videos show it ethier...uauurgggg

@sachiel01 wow that was fast, but no that video is too short. it was about 3- 4 mins and it included dantes beowulf 2 combo, kick 13 and round trip, but the difference was, he switched clips so the moves matched the ones from the other game, so it would be punch-punch quick kick, then switch to last hit of gilgamesh's first combo type deal. It had vergil doing rising sun and the very end of dante's DT kick 13 to.

don't get me wrong I saw this video first long before, and its good but. ugg.

So you are saying that they each have good and bad qualities right? I mean I wish they had tornado at the end but the way that works as I see it is its an OP move. If you do the DT during it its almost never NOT going to kill what your fighting even in DMD mode. Otherwise I can't find any problems since I never played any other then 4(KILL ME) But I think they made it harder to JC because it was TOO easy in 3.

Rebellion is practically the same as in DMC3, with the expanded "Drive" and a shorter "Dance Macabre". Gilgamesh has no original moves (not a single one!), and has some miscalibrations that makes it a lot harder to use than Beowulf and Ifrit.

DMC4 has Lucifer, but DMC3 has Agni&Rudra, Nevan and Cerberus...

In term of fighting moves, I still think in DMC4 as a downgraded DMC3.

but the only question is where would the commands be put on the hotkeys...

i can see how they are both about equally good dante has more attacks and stronger ones in 4 indicated by the black or red seen in some attacks while 3 has more weapons and unforgetable characters and abilities but in 3 it does not able you to use then all like in 4 but in 4 gameplay is way too easy in 3 it is a challange

Devil May Cry 1 is the best, classical, and most memorable game in DMC serie. I just can't forget the bosses like Phantom, Giffrion (wrong spelling) they are like always in my heart lol. And weapons were cooler in DMC1 plus I love the storyline and map (castle, designs, etc)

DMC 4 failed with a lot of things; mainly with the idiot story, and recycled attacks, while stripping dante of the main character spotlight. DMC 2 fails in too many ways to list. DMC was sweet , although more bosses would have been nice. And DMC 3 was the best in terms of gamplay, story, characters, etc. the only complaint I have of 3 is the horrible battle music

I think both games are good. Even though you tried to give your point of view about your game, DMC4 is really a good game. The story line is better than 3 and way more smooth. You are missing the fact that Dante is not the only playable character through the game so this gives a great variation in gameplay and style. Nero has some cool movements too... not as good as Dante's but the devil bringer gives the game a new style of fighting.

I don't "miss the fact" that DMC4 had Nero, because DMC3 has Vergil, with a move set fair to Nero's... :P

The Devil Bringer is nice, but DMC4 rooms are bigger. It forces you to use de DB because the enemies are easily off reach. You often have to run or double-stinger with Dante.

I agree with the story, but DMC3 had better characters. Vergil and Lady will stay long in the gamers memories.

They both are good games, but I think DMC4's upgrades doesn't make up for it's downgrades.

I was playing Devil May Cry 1 today and I can see what you mean about it being a strategy action game. It doesn't put emphasis on times button presses (well it does but not in the same way), but instead makes use of tactics. I believe they tried to make DMC4 similar to 1, but they failed. I think Capcom forgot how to make DMC games good, even when they are trying to make it better. Do you think they will make a better game in DMC 5? Also, what do you think they could do to make them better?

This video is really great. I am also a fan of DMc 3 over Dmc 4, I liked all f them though, but I will never play 2. I still say that the first DMc is the best one. It just feels so solid, especially while doing helmbreaker, stinger, and shooting ebony and ivory. In the 4th it feels like I'm hitting air, and it feels like guns besides pandora are useless.

I agree with you. DMC1 has a lot more heavier gameplay. DMC1 is a strategy-action-game, is not focused on combos and style as DMC3.

And DMC4 has big rooms, and the special effects are a lot "smaller" than DMC3. There are no big smokes or blood coming from the enemies. You fell like hiting the air, really.

See around 4:04 how E&I fire is bigger in DMC3. DMC4 is a lot more discreet in the special effects.

I believe that Bayonetta is really close to what DMC4 should have been.

DMC4 was meant to have more weapons, more tools, and more speed. It should upgrade DMC3. Instead, we got a game with less weapons, 80% with recicled attacks, and many of game mechanics changed to worse.

Capcom failed, and the result is Bayonetta has many of DMC3 and DMC4 moves, with a lot of new things and mechanics.

DMC5 may come someday, but it will have a hard work to do to keep up with Bayonetta standards.

In fact, I, too, hate how DMC4 improves so little from DMC3, and, sometimes, goes worse than DMC3.

Well sadly I can't evaluate it cause I haven't played it yet...But let's not forget that if they changed too much some fans would be pissed....In therms of graphics...they have outdone themselfs..Gameplay is the same as it should be..And the new character Nero is a great addition...I'm sure everybody loves him for his attitude and of course the Devil Bringer..The storyline looks interesting and the bosses are great...Overall if I was a reviewer I would give it a high score...I think

Vergil's gauntlet moveset is so far the best in any "Devil May Cry" game. Just add a few things such as "zodiac", "Volcano" and a few "mash" combos. Awesome . . .

n da d compara os 2 pq se for fze isso a gente tem q compara gráfico jogabilidade TAMANHO DA CAIXA DO INIMIGO (o quadrado q forma o inimigo sem nenhuma skin) ou seja tudo (não só alguns combos) + tah boa a comparação se for comparação d combos dmc1/3/4

Eu não comparei combos. Comparei a estrutura do sistema de ataques, e a biblioteca de golpes. :P

Minhas principais críticas ao DMC4 são a menor biblioteca de golpes, o delay gigante dos ataques, e a "caixa do inimigo" gigante.

Os inimigos são grandes, os cenários são grandes, o Jump Cancel não funciona do mesmo jeito, e você praticamente não tem golpes novos.

E, de jeito nenhum, a Pandora é uma fusão da Kalina Ann com a Nevan e Artemis. Pandora tem poucos golpes e é pesada.

Mas, com excessão da Jealousy, são TODOS ataques lentos. E nenhum deles pode ser interrompido com outro golpe.

Se ao menos o Grief permitisse que o Dante andasse pelo cenário enquanto a Pandora acerta, blz... mas nem isso. :S

Pandora é lenta, lenta, lenta. Tem uns golpes de originalidade questionável, e não serve em combos rotineiros. É bonita para finalizar o combo, mas, fora isso...

I don't agree at all with the idea that DMC3 is better than DMC4. DMC3 was great, but 4 is just as good in every aspect. On top of that, 4 is more fluid

DMC3 introduced 3 new melee weapons (Cerberus, Agni&Rudra and Nevan), and Beowulf, who took the heritage of Ifrit.

Plus, created the seven styles, and had Spiral and Artemis. Spiral was extremelly usefull, and Artemis was really stylish.

DMC4 only brought Lucifer and the Style Switch. Otherwise, almost everything else came from DMC3.

And DMC4 has a lot of miscalibrations regarding move cancelation and spaciality. No battle of DMC4 compares to a fight at DMC3's Love Planet.

Lucifer is a really great weapon and very unique in style. Best thing to ever happen to DMC was the style switching. And although there were less weapons in DMC4 as opposed to DMC3, DMC4 was still more stylish. It takes more skill for the JC and frame cancellation than in DMC3 where all the enemies had rather large collision boxes.

It's cool that you disagree, but DMC3 just isn't the work of genius DMC4 is. And btw, Gilgamesh combines the moveset from DMC1 and 3 + Vergil. Pure Awesome sir. :)

well i disagree - the doppelganner and quicksilver styles arent very helpful than the style switch - (nevan is a ranged or a meelee weapon???) - agni & rudra only added some combos for sword - love planet is a map we cant compare love planet to another place - spiral has a really huge cooldown and pandora is a fusion of artemis kamina ann and nevan(it can stay in air just like air ride but without DT) ;] cant compare

That's not a bad thing all in all though - quite the reverse, I thought the demons in DMC1 were easily the best among any of the games. I was so glad when I saw Frosts and Raptors in DMC4. :D

You must remember that sooner or later they would have to re-introduce monsters from earlier games, otherwise they'd have no choice but to make crap rip-offs which would be shot down by the fans. Same thing with the weapons. What the hell does Dante do with them anyway? Ebay? (I want Irifit back, shush)

The only advantage DMC4 has is the style switch. Otherwise, DMC3 owns.

DMC3 has a bigger diversity of moves and attacks. DMC4 lost that and lost a lot of good calibrations, as you can see in the vid.

It's called "Kick 13".

It's an attack of DMC1, that returned in DMC4 slightly different, but essencially the same.

Not quite. However, if you use the side roll right after you fire a grenade round you can cancel some of the lag and fire faster.

Faltou comparar o Flame Kick do DMC1 com os Killer Bees, e o tempo do DT do DMC1. :p

Pelo q eu vi cada DT Orb dura 1,5 segundos (calculei uns 15 no total), e com o DT Heart do DMC4 parece q num dá um número redondinho, mas whatever!
