Interesting, when I've seen this commercial (I live in Canada), it doesn't show China.
The uranium is shown coming from Canada and the people are dancing in a city in the US.
A few Canadians I've spoken to are quite offended by the commercial, as it implies the ore is mined and the power plant (and therefore the risk and enviro damage) is in Canada, but the power is all sent to the Americans.
Um man, this add is broadcast in numerous countries around the world. Ever noticed the web address on the Canadian add? its an american company.. basically a universal company, but owned by americans.
Your point is totally invalid and pointless.. lol
Actually, all versions of the ad display the Chinese characters for Shanghai in the frame where the train goes into the city, including the one where the dancers are put in the US. Obviously the ad was originally directed at China, which is not surprising since China is building the most nuclear power plants in the world right now and Areva wants in on the action. They just created an ad-hoc version for the US since the US is talking about building new plants now too.
The song is Funkytown (12" version) by Lipps, Inc. on the Casablanca Records Story (Box Set) - great commercial - the French version even cooler - I love the way they say Areva.
one of the guys that made this ad seems to be the brother of etienne de crecy who made tempovision.he also made the clip "am i wrong" where fast food was heavily criticized. but it doesn't bother him to promote nuclear companies. For the music, they'd better use "Radioactivity" by Kraftwerk!
a studio band that achieved one significant hit, "Funkytown" in 1980. The group was formed in Minneapolis by Steven Greenberg, who wrote and produced all of the group's music, and who also played several musical instruments. The group consisted of a changing group of session musicians.
An Australian group called Pseudo Echo had a cover version of the song in 1986 - 1987. It topped the charts in Australia for 7 weeks from Dec 1986.

The waste would most certainly be stored in the country when the power plant is.

This wasn't "ripped off" from the Ryksopp video. The guys who did that video also did this commercial.

Not to mention that the animation style itself is called "Isometric Animation".

Song is from the 70s-80s. Animation was totally ripped off from Royksopp video, the "Geico Caveman" song actually.
Get me a job as a writer in Hollywood...it needs a little creativity! Nice animation, but it's been done.
