@ronaldinho4eva1 Laptops are pretty finicky. Most of their hardware was purpose built to fit inside the laptop's frame. I wouldn't mess around trying to replace your laptop's videocard. What you buy is pretty much what you're going to stick with until you purchase a new laptop. About the only thing you can fiddle with is putting more sticks of RAM into the laptop.

Video cards don't matter much in GTR2. You'll probably be fine off with a 7000-series nv card. But to run such big fields you need lots of ram and especially a fast processor.

GT sucks. Racing their "advanced" AI, i find myself constantly being rammed by them because they follow a presset line, then when I hit them back, I'm penalized.

With all their money, I'm still amused to see that the big boys at Polyphony digital still can't figure out how to do it as well as Simbin.

I'm sorry, but there is nothing "emotional" about it. The AI is always the same, preset thing. And if they said that back with GT3, you think the AI would be amazing now, but it isn't any better (from what I could tell, there was no improvement between 3 and 4 in AI)

How to get the Audi R10 to work? When installing JPBS mod after the Prototype mod(perfectdark) then adding the Peu908 & AudiR10 add on, but when in menu too choose car there is no 3d model? & game CTD when entering. Cant find help else :(

All the Le Mans tracks our for GTR2 are ugly except for the VLM 1977-1979 track. It's like the trees are just a flat wallpaper beside the track in this one. Can't wait til VLM completes the 1996 Le Mans track.

can i ask you something? i downloaded the mod for GTR2. To more specific its JPBS prototypes mod but why do LMP1 cars Peugeout and Audi have only 5 gears? and why there top speed is just about 280km/h? i mean the thero supposed to run faster and Courage and others top much more.

That certainly doesn't sound right. I was getting close to 200 mph (320 kph or whatever) on that straightaway in the R10. As for the gearing... I can't remember. I think they were both 5 gears. Crazy diesel engines.

I've done some research on it, the Audi has a X-Trac 5 speed Sequential and Peugeot has a 6. As i was saying both cars are mising a gear, Aparently the Audi has only 4. I also found a JPBS mod physics patch but it doesn't feel right. It did fix my gears, but the handling got weird.

I only wish Simbin will release a LeMans series in the future.

Actually the Peugeot 908 has 6 gears,R10 5. And theres a patch out for it so the R10 and Peugeot's are faster

i have th momo and i love it , i think the logotec goes like 400 degrees and this only goes a little past sideways on each side. thats more like a racing car but like an ordinary car would be like G25 but the upside of the g25 is a lot more programs recognise it ezily and it has a h config shifter, i tink u would probly get better control wit the mo if u do stuf like gtr2 but if u do nfs u want g24 and there is the price 2 take into account, if u get momo u save eneough for 2 decent racing games

We know that Gran Turismo, has several categories running committees, cars of several potencies, but you release in last place and in a turn it crosses all with a lot of easiness, they seem that the cars are stopped when you go by them such it is his speed.

GTR 2 is an excellent simulator, a hug and good run.

you put the setup of the game for beginner and the other pilots' low aggressiveness, for this you go with great easiness by the other cars. It is like this very easy and he doesn't have competition.

You're correct in that the cars I'm passing are no competition, but the reasons you state are incorrect. The game is in simulation and the aggressiveness is at 100% (watch carefully and you'll see that even the drastically outmatched nGT cars drift into my line). The car I'm driving far outperforms anything else than the other prototypes - which are never seen because I started up the main event without qualifying, placing me last.

I hate how most racing games (like stupid GT), the AI is flawless, so realistic wrecks never happen (plus, with no damage and rubber cars, not dramatic either). That's what I love about GTR 2, especially the modded tracks: unpredictable AI, reminds of a few real world drivers.

he is driving a le mans car... they are almost as fast as f1... they reach speed up to 350 kph and the gt class car can barely go up to 310...

The cars I was passing in the beginning are 400 - 450hp GT2s. The GT1 classes (the first of which you see are the old Vipers) range around 600 - 700hp. Some of the protos have a lot more HP than that. Some of them don't. ALL of them are lighter and far more aerodynamic than the sportcars and have excellent braking, cornering, and acceleration abilities.

Hence me passing by cars like they're going 30 mph instead of 170 or so. :)

In real world? Definitely. The AI slowed down in front of me (it has a tendency to fight for position, out-classed or not)... with the AI in rear known to ram me out of the way, I simply pushed on through the Porsche (it saved itself from a spin, as the AI usually does).

Indeed. Sorry to say, but that's simply the difference in speed and handling between GT2 (and GT1) and LMP1. This is straight-up "Simulation" mode, with no aids or anything.

Well, check your setup. The default setup for the SCC protos might be utter crap. The rest is just practice. If you haven't done so already, turn off all the driving aids, too (except auto clutch). Those just handicap your sim-racing development.

As for the specs... Core2Duo E6600, 2 gigs RAM, and I think I still had a GeForce 7900GT when I made this video. I have an 8800GTS now.
