25 years in healthcare, 15 in the ER. There are many reasons why going to the ER costs so much. The biggest is that most people do not have enough common sense and feel they have to be seen in the ER for a runny nose. If I had my way EVERYONE that was not an emergency would be required to pay 25 dollars upfront to be seen or treated. This would cut down on needless ER visits. And on a side note I would make everyone that receives any free money from the government take a urine drug test.

You know health care wouldn't cost so much if the drug additics in this song didn't take up unneeded non er beds in an er! if the drug seekers stayed away from the ers and got out side help to get away from the drugs then health care might not have coasted so much but it wasn't delt with when it could have been controled and now it is way to big to control. so health care workers just like every human have a right to bad days atleste he wrote a song insted of taking it out on a pt!

@GlockShooter83 we aren't well paid. most of us do it, because we think we are doing a good thing. if we were in it to get rich, then we made a mistake. the doc's and the hospitals are making the money, not us. we have to vent, it lets of stress. we do a job that involves our hearts. and sometimes it sucks. letting off steam helps us keep our sanity. i'll tell you a secret, i can't afford to get sick and go to the hospital i work at.
