Of course I fucking know what weta is. I'm a HUGE fan of their work. But there's a difference between a whole CG movie and a few CG characters in a real environment. The only reason why Gollum looked so good is because Andy Sirkis did such a damn good performance.
The thing is, I've seen real halo weapon props, armor, and know that a live action Halo movie would kick ass.
Come on, have some imagination. I can think of 5 different ways that animatronic covenant are possible.

And weather or not the CG is good, you can still tell it's CG. You should look up uncanny valley if you don't already know what it is.
Besides, if a live action Halo movie comes out, that means full scale fully accurate working props on Ebay. Made by WETA workshop. Fuck yeah.
