Other than the bobsleigh team, all the gold medals that were won were won by individuals (White, Wescott, Miller, Vonn, Davis, Lysacek, etc.). Not to mention America went undefeated up until the gold medal hockey game. Canada didn't. And the game went to overtime. The USA and Canada are now tied at who is the "best" in ice hockey, which we all know is something most Canadians can't stand.

If Canada was the alright best they would've won the first game against the U.S. and the gold medal game wouldn't have gone into overtime. If the U.S. was the best then they wouldn't have lost the gold medal game. The list of European players is actually going down.

Also if sports didn't come in such a wide variety as they do in the U.S. compared the Canada they would have more hockey players. Plain and simple. America has many popular cultural sports, Canada doesn't have many. They really only have one that is really popular. Ice hockey.
