  • I love the beatles

    I love U2

    I love Bono

    I love this song

    It's just perfect

  • is that robin williams????? :P

  • @TheGmonsta99 I'm pretty sure it's Cheech Marin. :P I expected a slightly better cover from Cheech, but Oh well.

  • @ObnoxiousOldFart lol XD

  • @TheGmonsta99 From certain angles he looks a little like Bono of U2, don't he? Nah, it's really not a bad cover, but keeping in character I have to try and say something obnoxious. :P

    Or just plain stewpid.

    ... comes naturally. :-)

  • @miksevilla it is bono from u2

  • it sucks ... seems like an advert for a plasma tv ... the fab four don't deserve that ...

  • @fernandoblanc No one, I mean NO ONE can do a decent cover of a Beatles tune that comes close to the original. As much as I like Aerosmith, that album they did years ago (Sgt. Pepper lonely hearts .... something or other?) .... it wasn't the same. It just can't be done, so anything half ass - I mean Half WAY decent will do.

But then we can always listen to the originals, right? :-)

  • @MikSevilla He is...

  • at first i thought it was the singer of U2

  • Muito locooooooooo!

    São paulo

    Brasil

  • In every single song on the album, it feels like the timing is not quite right. Also, this song has no meaning.

  • @gangstamoocrew blame yourself if you can't catch the meaning of this song ¬¬''

  • @Impacto1989 Did you know why John wrote this song? He wrote it because he found out his old school teacher was having her class listen to his music and trying to find the meaning behind all of them. This song was made with no meaning at all to confuse people.

  • on a side note Bono is also involved in saving the walruses

  • This interpretation is sikk

  • Oompa oompa stick it up your jumpa

  • is that bono?

  • @mercyless00 i think he is^^xD

  • @mercyless00 thats the first thing i thought

  • Oh my god! I nearly cried from laughing so hard at Bono...the facial hair and glasses are hilarious. :D

I am the walrus...coo coo ca choo.

  • bwahaha. yay for acid trips xD

This movie is the best. lol

  • I'm cryiiing .... Semolina Plichaaaard! :P

  • man you've been a naughty boy you let your face go long

  • bono-er

  • bono is awsome in this

  • Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds!

  • kookookajoo :D

  • I like this version more than the real one.

  • no....

  • This look for Bono is way better than what he actually looks like.

  • true...ish

  • bono(L) xD

  • BONO....lol wooooohh... ;-)

  • Everyone's getting all hyped over because this movie does covers of the Beatle's Sure there great but let's think of it like this, there songs are so great that they want too cover em' and show the world what the Beatles were about but in a story kinda way. Don't Hate on this cover or all of em. I would feel proud if someone took my songs and make a movie about em' everyone's gotta grow the fuck up. -_-

  • I like the original, I like this one, Iike the merry prankster theme. If you don't like this movie, then by all means don't watch it. see ya.

  • this song is all about the drugs man

  • Simply an awesome musical movie. The attention to detail is amazing & any Beatle nut will know what l mean. Bono & Cocker where brilliant too.

  • for those of us who grew up with long haired parents it´s wonderful to listen this songs by the band of "your generation" I don´t care about the film plot.... listen to Mr cooker in come together and bono in this one it´s quite an turn on..!!! Some bands had really craped on original version... this is not the case.... well done for them!!!!

  • Yellow matter custard?

  • mustard

  • No, I mean, they don't say the part with yellow matter custard dripping from a dead dogs eye. That's my favorite part.

  • DON'T COVER THE BEATLES.

  • i think jim carrey can sing better .

  • o.o Is it me or did they skip a few stanzas in this song?

  • i was not a fan of the movie itself but i did enjoy these remakes of the songs. They are well done. I personally feel that the beatles have the better version. But i was not of that generation so i cannot tell vote for everyone else.

  • the movie is pretty much base off of their songs so if u didnt like the movie you dont understand the songs.

  • You -can't- understand this song.

  • its a bout war mostly

  • civil rights movement too

  • Best virsion of this song ever!!! and the film is incredible!!

  • nothing beats the original, but this is amazing. the movie was very well put together.

  • this film is one of the best films i ever saw in my life!:o) bono is amazing in this!

  • coo coo ka choo.....these are lyrics?

  • They are to The Beatles.

  • The house at the end is really cool. An octagonal victorian.

  • trippy hippie movie.

    I love this movie though

  • I am the walrus is an amazing song because the meaning of it is that we are all equal and that it does not matter who or what we are.

    I LOVE THE BEATLES <3333333<33333

  • Actually it's about nothing. That was Lennons intent when he wrote it, at least. It was meant to be a song where any interpretation of the lyrics would be wrong.

  • He was high and saw himself swimming with a walrus.

  • this song took them like 3 months to make, after they returned from a year long acid trip in india. so when you listen to it on acid theres all these cool sounds and you "understand" what it means, thats the point i think. haha

  • From what I've found Lennon wrote the first two lines admittedly while on an acid trip. He then combined three songs he had ideas for into one (Corn Flake, Police, and English Garden). The final project was meant to be completely nonsensical.

  • Am i the only one who thinks that I am the walrus Bono's version kicks ass and its better than the original version?

  • nope. I agree with ya 100%

  • Comment removed

  • omfg you heathen.

you will die for what you have said.

    not even kiddin'.

    yeah...

    blasphemy

  • i like this version, but i like the cover by Oingo Boingo better...

  • Bono's version sucks ass

  • bono just thinks his shit dont stank.

  • 1:18 LMAO even the old ladies were trippin back then.

  • I got a dvd with special feature behind the scenes things that said it was goo goo gajoob.

  • yeah man thats true

  • it is goo goo gajoob

  • LOL the old lady

    Wooo!

    I am the egg man!

    I am the walrus! coocoocachoo!

  • It's actually: GooGooG'joop. xD

  • Oh shit

    really??

    LMAO <33

  • it can be both.

  • You get a gold star!

  • Not as psychedelic as the original

    Same mistake as oasis.

(Don't get me wrong, this version is much better than oasis's)

Looks like they don't realize the real psychedelic power of the song.

They miss a lot of arrangements that lennon wrote in the original song.

Lennon was proud of this song and named it his more complex song.

  • this is my favorite version : )

  • Bono f-ing ROCKS! He was the perfect choice for that role. The movie itself is bloody brilliant!

  • the best movie i have ever seen

  • across the Universe is a good movie

  • they shoulda had jim carrey sing it

  • i gotta say bono does this way better cause he is actually talented at singing

  • Carrey did it because it would sound hilarious (and it was also pretty good too). But I think Bono's was more appropriate for the film.

  • WTF is this song??/ whats it mean?? its so fucked up

  • its i am the walrus by the beatles john lennon was trippin on LSD when he wrote it thats y its so weird

  • wooh dude dont get me wrong i know exactly what this song is - - like wtf everybody knows this song!! It's just i was so confuesed cause i never get what it means - - and i was thinking bout it & i noticed that alot of beatles songs are about drugs like "lucy in the sky with diomands"

  • apparently john lennon wrote it to confuse his old professor when he learned that he was having his new pupils analyze lyrics of other beatles songs

  • WooH! thats pretty cool!!

I just can't find why this song is so emotional when it doesn't make sence...mabye the toon!

  • the walrus part is from lewis carolls "Looking Glass" (forgot the whole name lol)

But yeah alot of their songs are from being on drugs. People today are still trying to figure out the i am she and you are he part. The beatles said it meant nothing and they thought of it while stoned. lol

  • the looking glass is a lie! read "looking glass wars" by frank beddor(:

  • Lol theres LSD in the punch i think

  • no no no this one was written on acid... Lucy was written on LSD

  • There the same thing acid is a nickname for LSD you arrogant ass

  • arrogant ass... geez thts harsh man. But when the beatles refered to writing this one on acid (not lsd, although i know they are the same thing) we should refer to it as acid. Lucy was said to be written on Lsd... u dont say tht song was written on acid u dumbass

  • hmmm right now i have my foot in my mouth....now that i always thought lucy was about a drawing that john's son did

  • what the fuck is thts?????

  • hahaha dumbass

  • no what gave that away!!!!!!?

  • I want those glasses.

  • THey were on some serious stuff writing this

  • Wow!! Que buen viaje...

  • aunqe sea el mismo Bono, nadie interpreta mejor las caniones de lennon qe Lennon mismo ...

  • La pelicula es awesome xro el personaje de bono es patetico aunq como interpreta este temazo mola muxisimo

  • vevo"!

  • i am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together!!!!!

  • esactamente es lo que queria lennon..

partirles la cabeza a aquellos q le buscan significado a sus canciones...

    es una cancion "random"

    sin sentido con mucha rima

    pa cabrear a dylan

  • Bono and the Beatles ROCK!!!! He did well here! PEACE OUT!

  • According to wikipedia John also heard that his old teacher was analysing The Beatles lyrics so he wanted to make a nonsense song. People started wondering who was the walrus so on the song Glass onion Lennon sings somthing like: "and here's a clue for you all, the walrus was Paul"

However Lennon also sang during his solo carier "I used to be the Walrus but now I'm John"

I just love this song and everything about it how it makes people wonder what it is about when it is about absolutely nothin

  • what is point of this "song" ?

I'm still trying to figure that out -

    I am here, .........

  • it was written while on drugs so go get a LSD tab and think again ;)

  • PSICHEDELIC POWER =)

  • what is point of this "song" ?

  • it gives the hippies point of view on the war at the time and wat they thought of the government at the time, also i cant remember who but it was either john lennon or paul mCcartney who wrote this but one of them is anti war. and he wrote this. it is a beatles song

  • It's bascially the result of a lot of LSD. John Lennon wrote it. I love it. Just sit back and enjoy it, no need to analyze. The only thing I really know about this song is when he says "Semolina Pilchard climbing up the Eiffel Tower..." he is referring to Sgt. Pilchar(d) who made himself famous in the 60s by busting famous people for drugs...including John himself!

  • Good stuff!..... but when was it in the charts?

  • lol LSD or not, it looks like they wrote some damn great songs when they were trippin' major balls.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa fuck a man a this a guy a makes a me a sick a song a is a too a big a even a for a him, that a song a kills a the pigs ...hahahahahahaha

  • the beatles must of been on LSD when they wrote this song it makes no sense: "i am the eggman, they are the eggman, i am the walrus, coo coo cachoo" awesome song though i love the beatles

  • ...what the hell is going on here???

  • EVERYTHING

    x.x

    XD

  • BONO RULESS!!!

  • You got that right. U2 is also awesome and like the best band better.

  • amazing I love bono

  • Oh, Bono... Es ist eben nich ganz so einfach, Beatles-Titel besser machen zu wollen, nicht wahr? Aber vielleicht wolltest du den Beatles ja auch nur ein Denkmal setzen. Dann wär's gelungen...

  • O and they are all high in the movie

  • He can sing that song way better than the Beatles

  • yeah he can

  • this sucks compared to the beatles! totally insulted the song

  • why could'nt my bus be like that school would have been a whole lot diffent...lol

  • Bono did an amazing job with this song, one of the few that's actually better than the beatles.

  • what the fuck!?

what does the punch has in it!!

    it's great!

  • Coo coo cachoo

  • ever so trippy...

  • that's bono? lol

  • Bono looks he's been hanging out with Cheech Marin in this video.

    Earache My Eye.

  • i want some of that pink punch

  • bono's good and all, but john lennon sang this better

  • Bono singing this song was the only reason I watched it in the first place!

I don't mind the movie now...

  • i am the walrus u r the eggman

  • he does a good american accent!

  • Funny how they give BONO this song.

  • damn pink punch messes with your head!!!! never drink it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • trippen balls

  • en especial esta cancion me gusta mucho, con los beatles claro, pero Bono la interpretò genial!!! amo la pelicula!! =)

  • 1:06 he missed a whole verse learn the song Bono!

  • and what was bono doing there? he is not from englan

  • the movie takes place in New York. he's not supposed to be from England haha. it was just a rad little cameo he was given the chance to do, so he took the offer. and he lovees the Beatles. and-obviously-its a Beatles musical haha [:

  • the guy in the video is Bono, the lead singer from U2

  • this was my fave part of the movie

    it was awsome.

  • The Beatles meets the Shamen meets Bono meets WTF

  • I'm scared.

  • Great movie.. I was high...and this scene was my favorite!! it was sooo.. trippy!

    -Raven-

  • *looking at comments below*

I love how people have to have debates on a fucking Youtube video. It. Is. A. Video. Get over it.

That being said, Bono did a good job on the cover. c: Then again, I adore 'I Am The Walrus'; one of my all-time favorite Beatles songs. [/And don't tell me it's horrible; I dare you to listen to Oingo Boingo's take. That. Is horrible.]

  • great movie :)

  • BEST MOVIE!!!!!!

    nough said

  • Pretty close ain't it?

  • Dude Bono fuckin rocked this song... that's all that needs to be said for real...like people argue so much on these forums and it's stupid you miss the meaning... and if you even have to think about what the meaning is you aren't real... fuck fagit fakers...

  • Rocked it? He butchered it. BTW, learn to spell faggot you moron. Damn, you are 36 years old and can't even spell that? Or use anything resembling correct grammar? I sure hope you aren't really 36 years old, if you are that is sad. and what meaning did I miss? The fact that Bono can't even get the chorus right? It isn't coo coo ka choo morons. But you guys aren't real beatles fans so you didn't notice that. You are fans of Bono and Jim Sturgess. Stop trying to be act like beatles' fans.

  • Congrats in knowing how to spell the word. You probably use it alot. He did not butcher the song.Yes, it IS coo coo ka choo, moron. What did you think it was? Goo goo?

I like Bono, but I like the Beatles more. I first began appreciating them after this movie came out, and I never even liked Bono until I saw him at his Imax concert, which was insane.

  • it really is googoo g'joob. that's how john lennon wrote it. he got it from a book called finnegans wake by james joyce. it's just a wierd expression. so bono did in fact sing it wrong, but whether it was on purpose or not i don't know. but if it wasn't then it's messed up that he does a cover and sings it wrong.

  • faygohomie69.......you've completely missed the point, If the movie was meant to sound exactly like the beatles they would have just used the origional songs. All the songs from the movie were unique and well done. They were not meant to be carbon copies of what was made a few decades ago. Just sit back tune in tune out and explode.

  • Well, it makes people fans of Jim Sturgess' version and not the real beatles. When lame little fan boys who don't even OWN a beatles album, let alone knows anything about the beatles, try and act like they are HUGE beatles fans it is retarded. You guys aren't fans of the beatles, you are fans of Jim Sturgess and Bono. If you guys are such big beatles fans then why don't you watch the REAL beatles? I know, what a silly concept. But the real beatles don't appeal to you, this movie is what does.

  • Ok, even if we assume that it is relevant that the song is not on par or superior to the original, which is doesn't have to be, Bono still chose the song because he thought highly of it. And on top of that, his version had high points, and he's a great artist. And I'll tell you this: even if we say he's not as good as the Beatles, I guarantee his concerts blow away anything the Beatles have done. He can entertain just as much. And he has things to say, too.

  • it seems that you're a Beatle Demigod. It offends you that people enjoy art that has been re-done and released by people who were barely alive when jon died..

"You guys aren't fans of the beatles, you are fans of Jim Sturgess and Bono. If you guys are such big beatles fans then why don't you watch the REAL beatles? "

    my responce to that?

I like ice cream, i like caramel.... i think ill have caramel ice cream. am i Sinner for wanting both?

  • this is not giving the beatles more fans its giving this movie fans. you guys aren't real beatles fans if you only know about them from this movie. you are fans of this jim sturgess guy and bono....they aren't the beatles. nor will they ever be.
