Hey, Indian Summer didn't 'bastardize' anything. That early 90's style is the definitive emo sound. Lifetime aren't and never were and the same goes for Jawbreaker.

They're musical genre is emo. All ya have to do to prove it is go 2 google and type is the word emo. Wikipedia has an artical on emo music. This song is in the artical. Not words, but in a music sample.

Lifetime is a great combo of old school emocore with melodic hardcore. If you don't like getting technical with subgenres they're just great punk.
