@PhillyGirl1 He is a sailor on shore leave in an Arab country. He finds an oil lamp from which comes a boy djinn. He grants Kelly the wish of entering an animated land where a princess falls in love with him, despite the efforts of the two guards to keep them apart. At the end Kelly dances away with the djinn, who is now a sailor, and the princess, who is now a WAVES.
No, this isn't Disney (MGM never worked with Disney, they wanted to for the movie "Anchors Aweigh" but Mr.Walt Disney refused. That's why Gene Kelly dance with Jerry and not Mickey as they first wanted!)
@igotrythm Hmm I wonder why Disney didn't want to work with MGM. Two superpowers working together would be awesome! And as a side note to those 2 people who missed the "Like" button WTF?!?!
MGM had big budgets for their cartoons, and had access to some of the best animators within their own studios, they really didn't need Disney as you can see.
I guess Disney was the household name and even the live action side of MGM thought of Disney first. I think as Disney did live action and later combined it with animation, selling his talents as animation only would be like working for his rivals, as he could distribute and produce his own movies.
@igotrythm Im kind of glad they didnt work with Disney because It would never be the same. Plus I think Jerry was a better choice than Mickey for the part. But thats just me.
i watched the hole thing with my grampa, and man, you think i wouldn't be as good with all this new tecnolegy and all, and back then thay didn't have all this new stuff, but wow, i couldn't belive it when i frist watched it, we need more of this today. this is entertainment!

@darksquirrel409 The dance with Jerry is in ANCHORS AWEIGH from 1944; this is the third part of INVITATION TO THE DANCE from 1956.

@onwebcameron ya i suppose that's true. it would make sense to not work for your rivals i guess lol. i still think it would have been cool though.
