@sariahtea I'm not so sure that true Christianity changes. Some of the doctrines may change and that is what you are seeing but the actual framework of the church Christ started during His earthly sojourn should stay. It didn't and the apostles and prophets were soon killed off one by one until they were left with no authorized guidance. Some did the best they could but it lacked the authority that needed to be passed down from the apostles.

@sariahtea That's sort of why I say that the doctrines change from time to time. The actual goals of "true" Christianity don't really change and have not according to my faith. Some sects of Christianity have changed some of the doctrines that were never meant to be changed though and that is primarily why our faith sees a great apostasy that took place after the apostles had all died off.

Some of the doctrines may change and that is what you are seeing but the actual framework of the church Christ started during His earthly sojourn should stay. It didn't and the apostles and prophets were soon killed off one by one until they were left with no authorized guidance. Some did the best they could but it lacked the authority that needed to be passed down from the apostles.

@sariahtea That's sort of why I say that the doctrines change from time to time. The actual goals of "true" Christianity don't really change and have not according to my faith. Some sects of Christianity have changed some of the doctrines that were never meant to be changed though and that is primarily why our faith sees a great apostasy that took place after the apostles had all died off.

@Bradzombiecommunist Obviously this video is just a lame reenactment but what they say in the video is a pretty fair representation of the temple ceremony. The clothing isn't quite right though. Unfortunately I went through the Temple when I got married and received my endowments and got my special "name" I learned the secret handshakes and promised to give my life and everything I had to the cult. I got washed and anointed all the while wanting to vomit because the whole thing was so creepy.

The Video you have to sit and watch is really lame as well. If you want to know what goes on and what the temple ceremony is like there is a recoding of it from when someone recorded it secretly. There is also a very good reenactment with spot on temple garments. Go to lds -temple dot oh ar gee. (get it?) Check it out.. also on "wi kileaks" where you can find the Church handbook of instructions for the Bishops which is VERY eye opening.

"Cultic ceremony"? No, when God commanded Abraham to brutally dismember lambs and goats and turtledoves and spread them on rocks in such a scary fashion, to me, that seems more "cultic". And yet, i acknowledge that it's not, so it's biased to consider annointings and baptisms for the dead as "cultic". Wasn't this film declared as slandering and clearly hateful by the Anti-Defamantion League, for its use of white and gray propaganda and straw arguments and Ad Hominem against LDS beliefs?

@ulisscarple Using that logic, Jesus himself was Satanic, for breaking Mosaic commandments and preaching against them. He promoted preaching to Gentiles, marrying them, etc, something that the Pentateuch bans. It tells people to punish those who even assemble with idolaters or forgive them. Research all things there are to know before "disproving" them, and stay away from bias.
