Hey I think I have photos from this. You guys need to check out this Facebook profile called Morbid Visions they have all kinds of old schoold flyers and pics from san antonio from this time they are also gonna make a public acces show with footage just like this.
I'm from San Antonio and I was 17 back in 1986. There were primarily 2 places in town that a band like Celtic Frost would play. They used to have a place called "Snickers" (Slayer has played there ) and this other small place ( Can't remember the name of it however). They also have Sunken Gardens but that is an outdoor venue. Saw my 1st concert there ( DRI, Metal Church, Anthrax). I've been gone since the mid 90's, don't know if any of those places still have concerts or not.
celtic frost HEAVYmetal!!Fuc*Yeah!!!!!!lovin this LIVE, I HAVE TO SAY OUT OF ALL THE SHOWS IVE BEEN TO i HAVE NOT SEEN CELTIC FROST.. in the 80s&early90s i used to go every couple weeks to all the boston shows.... patmat;'
I fuckin loved Frost. I had to wait and wait to see them. They showed up at the old 9:30 club during their cherry orchards era. It was the most depressing shit I ever watched. I wanted to strangle them. Only time I ever saw glam fags show up at the old 9:30.
Tell that to Obituary and the countless other death metal bands that sound like Frost. Celtic Frost are one of the bands that helped start the entire death metal movement.
I'll have to disagree with you on this, but anyway, back in the 80's black and death were almost the same thing. Only in the early 90's did a major split between the styles develop.
Yep. Venom inspired Bathory, but Bathory took it to new levels that Venom would never dare go to. The second wave are always the real pioneers, thats why there are practically no other bands responsible for influencing 90s Black Metal other than Bathory.
THAT FUCKING RIFF!!!!!

The Frost. 1986. If you rate this anything less than awesome then you don't like metal. That's not opinion, that's a fact.
