The Altima should blow the G8 away 0-60. The VQ dies after that so the G8 would take over and lose the Altima at that point. Given a good driver the Altima should have pulled away in the beginning.

@etb4u..along with high output ignition coils(Okada)..I also have a slight timing advance on the ECU..With just these few improvements, I've got the ability to accelerate and pull all the way to 160mph even and straight with most high output v8's/10's, e.g.G8's, Hemi SRT8's, 5.4 stangs, AMG Merc's etc. I have repeatedly tested this on the highways, with 4 speeding tickets so far. The VQ35DE Altima responds extremely well to these small mods, that's why I had it imported here.
@conradpvcs not true at all, youre not even supposed to go over 8 or so psi on a stock vq35, im looking at 450+ hp to the wheels after I build my motor and boost it at around 12-14 psi. All you would need to beat that g8 gt is 5 psi on a stock motor.

An Aussie boosted the same LY7 as is in my 6er with only 8 psi and made 380 whp and his VVT wasn't even working. Throw a haltech on there and get VVT and you're talking 400+ on 8 psi.

Yeah. Not bad really. I can hit 25-26 mpg on the highway if I am not dogging it and around 18 city in my '09 G8GT. A proper tune for 93 octane nets you a bit more as well.

I've had my '09 G8 GT for only a week, and I can say that your altima WILL NOT beat it. Your "few bolt ons" will not make up the performance gap in our cars from the factory. Your altima have an exhaust leak straight into the cabin for you to think it's a performance car.
That was really a V-6 5speed Alti wow. I didnt think it would lose that bad. Those G8's are fast but I think a Altima like mine would do alot better 30 more hp that the year you race and a 6-SPD.

The Altima needs RWD to keep up with the G8 GT from a dig. A 350Z or G35 would have kept up much better. It's just TOO much torque going through the front wheels of an Altima, as they are a bytch to launch out out the hole.

I have mad respect for the G8, even thinking about buying one. Even I will say that its not innovative or new, if you drop a 6 liter v8 in anything its gonna be fast, it has no choice. If pontiac had done more R&D and made better interiors they would still be around today. The nissan kept up very well for a car that has almost 120 less hp. RIP Pontiac....

Never said anything about the GTO, they put SOME thought into that, but the G8? Have you seen the center stack? I'm talking about the one without nav, green lighting and black PLASTIC everywhere. Pontiac hasn;t changed their interiors, they just made them more black, a cheap ass copy of german interiors. I have 2 pontiacs and can see that they tried to pull it off, but you can;t pull off a top level sports sedan when you are in chapter 11 right? You like your GTO looking like a cavalier?

you said pontiac in general. that includes the gto. and for the record, i LOVE the way my gto looks. it turns more heads than you could ever believe. people that like cars are intrigued by my car because there are so few of them. look at headers/corsa video and come back saying it doesnt look good. most people say they look too subtle.... since that video i took my spoiler off to make it more subtle! as if that's really possible. i think every guy on virginia techs campus knows about my car.

I've had my '09 G8 GT for only a week, and I can say that your altima WILL NOT beat it. Your "few bolt ons" will not make up the performance gap in our cars from the factory. Your altima have an exhaust leak straight into the cabin for you to think it's a performance car.

That was really a V-6 5speed Alti wow. I didnt think it would lose that bad. Those G8's are fast but I think a Altima like mine would do alot better 30 more hp that the year you race and a 6-SPD.

The Altima needs RWD to keep up with the G8 GT from a dig. A 350Z or G35 would have kept up much better. It's just TOO much torque going through the front wheels of an Altima, as they are a bytch to launch out out the hole.

Last I checked the nismo altima... the few that were made had the racing pin stripe on the side and front...and i think a V6 altim would do better than that I have the SE R altima and sure the 3.5 alti is not that much different but it'll do better than what that kid did.... I ll race my brother in his G8 one day and try to film it he wants to do it when he has 30k miles he has 12k now i have 14k on my se r

Yeah but you can get a C4 corvette for the same price as a mustang now. I would take a corvette over a mustang if it wasn't like a god damn bath tub. I am 6'4 and it is a bitch to get in one. Same thing with the Prowler. But I don't like the mustang because it seems like the door panel goes over you, makes me claustrophobic. I love my camaro though, I fit a little better than a vette or mustang, just wish it was a v8
