Kinda tailor made for Brandon's life (and, loss of everything in it). Great having the scenes/dialog, don't see that too often and you did it well. It all just flowed together so smoothly. Now, I wanna dig out my dvds an' watch Gungrave all over again! Thanks for UL, this is a keeper.
@KKumokun Thanks for the comment, yeah it was pretty much focused on Brandon but it just seemed to work out better that way. I kind of wish I did have the series of Gungrave but then again if I did I would have to look poorly at other animes because gungrave had quite an emotional story to it under all the shooting and such. Sad really.
Wow, great video and I agree wholeheartedly. This is one of the few animes that gets you to invest your self emotionally in the characters and their plight. You did it justice with the vid, thanks for sharing.

Brandon Heat...a man that walks a line between good and evil to do what he thinks is best. Some may say the music dosne't fit...but they're wrong. Johnny Cash walked the line his whole life. @OniBankotsu It's a fantastic video...saw it a long time ago and just thought about it again recently...I think it's a testament to just how well done it is when it can stay locked in someone's mind like that. Yeah...not the most over the top or fancy amv I've ever seen...but you've truly captured the emotion and I think that's what matters most. @evanash1234 I really did try and see what I could do with the idea. I hate watching it sometimes because I see things I could have changed or did differently. But overall I would say it was the most pleasing to work on. It makes me want to do more, and pull out some more ideas. But between work and trying to finish stories getting kind of difficult lol.
@OniBankotsu No artist is ever 100% happy about there work...that's just part of being an artist...constantly wanting to tweak or change something to make it more apealing. You did a great job. Very good amv 5/5 but if theres one thing i would criticize it would be that i think this song would be better suited to an amv that was made more from harry point of view, great job though.
Thanks for the comment. I had a toss up between which pov it should be though. I ended up going with Brandon becuase of his character and the song has a mood of almost regret. Harry didnt show much of any regret until the very end. But over all I can understand why it could go with harry just as well.

I don't know what to say about the choice of clips with the lyrics, but I commend you for directing it the way you did, and especially choosing the song; simply because this song is absolutely perfect for this Anime.
Its ok to cry everyone has to about something. At least this one made a good reason lol. Betrayal is always a sensitive topic since most everyone has felt it before. Doing the wrong thing for the right reason. Right thing for the wrong reason. Soo many side plots to this anime but it all worked out pretty well.

Yea it was just one of those things. I didnt heard the nin version till like a week later, and by then the video was already moving along, so didnt want to take it down and switch audio. I think with the nin version i would have had to pick a few different clips and maybe a little slower ones to fit with the tempo.
yo, this was really well done. I think it was wonderful. The song and the scene selection was wonderful. It would have been nice if the scenes were all in japanese, imho, and maybe having the random important lines lined over the music would have been nice but still, a great job over all!

this video isnt great but i liked that u used the best technique for this song it just needed better clips maybe of when he was with his first homboys when they died in the start and also maybe when that one guy kills merias mother that would have been a sad seen and im just naming off top of my head u should have went over all the episodes thats what i do and just make sections of love seens and action and sad u know just to mach up with the song i use
Hm I not so sure what else I could have done to show the meaning of the video and the song. It was just an over view of the sad things in his life and how they changed who and what he was. But in the end he remembered all the things he did and really thought of why. Yea finding the whole series was a pain. I used Veoh Tv to get them, then came the trouble of making sure they were either subbed or dubbed, I had to work with a bit of both as you see. I hope you have better luck finding them if though.
I was hesitant to watch gungrave, it looked cool, but an anime based on a 5-hour long video game (With cutscenes)? naw... but they really hit it out of the park, and changed up the end alot. in the game, big daddy comes back as a monster cause Harry used it for experiments. but at the end of the anime, its really hard to hate Harry. I must say tho, it was easy to hate Bunji until ep 24, lol. Awesome ~ 5/5! keep it up! oh, and 26 eps was perfect, any longer and the story would of suffered.
The scene where Harry kills Brandon is the most bone-chilling scene I've ever seen in an anime. The Johnny Cash version of Hurt is my favorite song; so full of emotion and sadness. You have merged the two perfectly. Bravo.
