  • Sheila's lead, the tight harmony of these girls from my hometown, are always hauntingly beautiful to me...a local disc jockey named Paul "Fat Daddy" Johnson saw the brilliance in the Royalettes, supported their career on his show and through his contacts in music...pghpookie, thank you for posting, including the snapshots of Bmore's yesteryear, when we had all we needed to woo the world.

  • pretty song. i like the harmony and these pictures in this video

  • NICE!!

  • I love this song!

  • Tremedous!

  • Dang, the Royalettes should've been bigger. I remember them when I was a kid and their two hits MIracle, and I Want to Meet Him. Wondeful sound and harmonies are out of this world plus Ms. Ross's leads are great and soothing.

  • Beautiful song and beautiful vocals.....why have the girl groups stopped singing like this??!!

  • NICE!

  • Why isn't "Can't stop running away" on here? Terrific stuff

  • Cool in the 60's mod clubs and still is now..................instant memories of sorts & scooters! thanks...

  • i listened to Hollys version and have to say this is the best version. So smooth.

  • pghpookie I notice the care you take into your slide shows...scenes of Baltimore for this group from that city...Chicago for Barbara Greene...the Brooklyn Bridge for Gene pitt & the Jive Five...this viewer appreciates it.

  • @misterten2 thank you, i try to use it to give more of an identity to both the group and song. just wish i had more time to find 'vintage' pics. pookie

  • ...hook filled tracks

  • the good old days of the two and a half minute single. it left you wanting more so you just played it over and over. i miss the short, hoo filled tracks.

  • I never hear d of this group either, but they sound good. What ever happened to them and why don't we every hear their music even on the oldies station? Any dj's out there want to take a shot a this to bring back music such as this?

  • One of my favorite Girl Groups! This is the Kind of Music that should be heard on the Radios today

  • i couldn't agree more. soooo tired of the mass appeal programed same sounding 'hits' of the day. no variety, little talent, and mindless noise. pookie

  • @pghpookie So So True! Thanks

  • Sheila Ross is amazing !

  • I agree.

  • The bridge really makes this song kick, it's one of my favorite tracks as well. Thanks for posting it!

  • omg this song is Amazing

    5/5

  • I love Holly maxwell's version better, no negativity what so ever.

  • no negativity taken. both are sooo good in their own way, that's why i posted both. love holly's version as well.

  • Nice remake of the original done by Holly Maxwell.

  • Wow. I had never heard of this group before. I was listening to Denice Williams song, Its Gonna Take A Miracle. That led to this group. I LOVE these girls. Thanks for posting. I LOVE YOUTUBE !!!!

  • Denice Williams is a great singer but the Royallettes original version is way better in my opinion, they are a great group

  • what a beautiful song

  • This is one of my favorite songs! The Royalettes is my 2nd favorite girl group. Shirelles is my number 1!

  • I always hear about them from my grandmother. She had sign auto photo graph of these ladies. This is song was very nice are they still living and what are the names of the members?

  • THESE GIRLS WENT TO EDMONSON HIGH SCHOOL IN BALTIMORE ,WITH MY AUNT IN THE 60s.

  • I love this tune the best of their songs

  • I LOVE THE ROYALETTES !!! their songs are so classy and beautiful....with Teddy Randazzo's symphonic production. People need to stop covering their tunes with pale imitations.(I'm not mentioning any names).

  • This is one of my favorite Royalettes tracks, thanks for posting it!

  • Luv the song and the vid. I'm from Baltimore so I really love the Royalettes, they were out when I was a teen and they really did us proud. The scenes make me homesick as I'm now a 20-yr Miamian. Great songs by singers with real talent is so refreshing to hear after the disco/psychedelic/rap/crap years. I like all kinds of sounds but the music from the 60's/70's is truly unique! Thanks for the posting and keep 'em coming. Peace :)

  • thanks for watching. i just love the royalettes, so i've posted a few of their things. i can understand your proud feeling, these girls were the class of the girl groups.

  • I still have both albums purchased sometime around 1965 and 1966. Played them to death. Everthing on both albums great. Teddy Randazzo was in the catagory of Burt Bacharach,Claus Ogerman and Paul Hardcastle are some of the finest arrangers EVER! Please load anything else that you have by the Royalettes.-cortez4chicago

  • check out 'my man', it's a bill medley song. it has a slightly different feel to it, which is why i put it up. i will be doing some more royalettes soon. they don't get enough recognition.

  • Bill Medley sang a song called BROWN EYED woman If you have or rememer ,they say he sang it to Darlene Love, who (enthusiastically) turned down ELVIN for a LAY in the hay!.- cortez4chicag

  • superb!
